TLG*GREATFUN Watch your bank accounts if you use a debit card! UNKNOWN Connecticut

I logged on to my checking account and found a charge for $11.99. I am slightly forgetful so I tried calling the 877-763-4140 and got an automated voice saying "your call may be monitored", followed by dead air and a disconnect. I tried the twice more, the same thing happened. I spent 20 minutes on the phone with my bank trying to get this removed from my account. They are going to credit my account but they want lock down my debit card and reissue it, a process that takes 7 - 10 business days.

I know $11.99 is not a lot of money but its almost 3 gallons of gas!! That would get me back and forth to work for most of a week.

I don't use my debit card on line and it is seldom out of my purse, so I really have no idea how it could have gotten compromised.

Everyone be very aware. Even if you don't balance your checking, savings, and/or credit card accounts always look at the transactions. This hit my account on Tuesday 06/24/08 (item on my account says the transaction took place on 06/23/08) and the only reason I found it was because I check my account a couple of times a week.

I had this issue...it's due to Fandango.

#2Consumer Suggestion

I had the exact same experience with the same phone number & "Great Fun" as the company listed. I got through when I called & was told that Fandango signed me up for their account. I think it's for free dinners and movie tickets? I had bought a movie ticket on Fandango's website & apparently that is how they got my info. If you google the telephone number you can read all of the other similar reports from consumers having the same issues. Call the number, tell them it was unauthorized and that you want to be reimbursed & have the account cancelled. One of the reports I read also had the CEO of Great Fun & the CEO of Fandango's information...just google it and I'm sure you'll find the same. Good luck!!!
