Be proactive in your research of TMG Incorporated and it's owner Steve Kordella.  The job is a waste of time and money.  The company is affiliated with Cydcor, which uses "Multi Level Marketing" to  make a profit.  This type of business practice is looked down upon and will likely cause you financial hardship and no social life.  The cult-like atmosphere (no pun intended) and promise of financial security suckers some employees longer than others, but most employees last less than 4 to 6 months.

Things I Wish I Would Have Known About TMG Before: YOU pay for your own gas, you "impulse" people to buy and they often cancel--therefore no commission, Steve plays favorites, the company is willing to hire anyone and everyone, encouraged to not take breaks, must attend "team night" once a week,  your paycheck will be extremely low no matter how much you work (typically 11 to 12 hour days), you will be told to quit at least once a week, required to drive long distances for road trips without gas compensation, you are expected to implement "the system" (aka snarky sales practices), not paid for extra responsibilties, Steve will constantly brag about all the money he has (which he probably got from his employees' pay since he does the payroll), attractive women are at risk for sexual harassment from Steve (witnessed 2 cases), it is not a Management Training Program---it is B2B sales, Steve constantly recruits and decieves new hires into believing they will make it big

I suggest Googling Cydcor, TMG (The Merl Group) Inc,Steve Kordella and the term "Multi Level Marketing" before accepting the position that I can guarantee would be offered to you.  EVERYTHING that goes on in Steve's office is replicated in hundreds of offices around the country.  Cydcor controls everything from meeting times, the interview process, pushy sales techniques and even brainwashing tactics ("big picture," "fear of loss" and "financial freedom," are just 3 ways employees are brainwashed into staying with the company) to keep employees in the "business."

In hindsight, I don't know why I stayed with TMG as long as I did.  Do not fall into the trap that will lead you to a dead end.

Check out this interesting thread which started as a warning about one of these scams and grew to list hundreds of them:  http://www.onedayonejob.com/jobs/the-landers-group/

It is unfortunate that this past employee feels the need to Defame a growing company that provides careers in this economy. TMG does not work for Cydcor. Cydcor is a seperate corporation out of California that has contracts with AT&T, Verizon, Comcast, and T-Mobile. Cydcor sets up contracts between companies like TMG and these large Fortune 500 companies mentioned. TMG is a seperate corporation that is set up in the state of Indiana.

This person is correct when they said the job is a waste of time and money....why? This individual actually frauded customers and unfortunately was among a group of sharp college graduates that chose to do the wrong thing. This group was either fired, or in this case this individual who wrote above quit. He quit (yes we know who he is, funny he won't list his name) because he chose to do the wrong thing. That is why it is a waste of time and money because he never did his job correctly. This individual put a lot of time and effort into the position and I am sure is frustrated in the outcome. Turnover hurts everyone and TMG is just as frustrated. The difference, we do not blast negatives against him for his performance.

This individual knows that TMG has expanded from 5 employees in 2008 to now over 150 employees in 5 states and has now promoted 6 managers through the Management Training Program. This is not an opinion, this is a FACT. This alone should discredit the opinion and defamation above. This is hard to do in this economic times.

Also, employees of TMG "DO NOT PAY THEIR OWN GAS". Due to the high gas prices and economic times TMG now pays a $100 gas bonus and a $200 gas bonus WEEKLY to those who hit the sales quota. Yes we "impulse" people to buy products. Our firm does sales, not customer service. This is why Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and Comcast pay our firm to do SALES! We do only Business sales face to face, not telemarketing or consumer (residential) sales.

Management has learned in this economy and generation, that the sales team likes to be coddled and built up and told they are "great". This person (we know who he is) feels that we were to harsh because we expected them to do their job and not complain.....crazy of management isn't it??
So, Managememnt no longer uses the "quit" motivation, but instead uses techniques to build up the confidence of the employees and we are seeing a better outcome for all. We enjoye now a positive environment. Management at TMG has evolved with the generation.

The owner, Steve, started entry-level and worked his way up from the ground floor in a company in Cleveland , Ohio and earned what he know has and is working towards. The same opportunity is give to those at his firm and now 6 people have taken advantage of that and manage offices themselves. So, any money or freedom that STeve has was earned....

The company is an equal opportunity company that currently employs people of all races and gender and currently has never had a harrassment problem or case with any employees. There are more woman that work for TMG than guys currently. This individual will be prosecuted and sued for this defamation as we now know who this person is. I hope they are ready.

It is sad this person wants to ruin the company for others. They will probably go and try to write more against TMG, but at the end of the day TMG will continue to grow and be ethical. This person clearly is the unethical one and any response will only strengthen the future lawsuit against him for libel/defamation. Again, we understand why this person is frustrated, but we are frustrated in the lack of ethics in defaming companies based on biases opinions. We hope this individual matures and will learn his lesson that online defamation is not okay.

Due to the economic times, this firm does now actually pay weekly gas bonuses to all employees that work in sales. Also, in addition are now offering a base salary plus commission and this is improving the firm. These were not options when the ex-employee wrote this. All employees are W2 employees and we no longer work for AT&T in Indianapolis. We handle commercial accounts for T-Mobile.

The firm  has actually promoted 5 managers in the last 2 years through this program. Those office are actually doing B2B sales for Verizon, Staples, and T-Mobile in multiple states. This is not an opinion, it is a fact. That alone should discredit the above statement. Going forward, AT&T and T-Mobile are not going to outsource there Business sales and marketing to a company that is unethical.

This individual is clearly upset and I agree they should be. They were caught with others frauding and making up sales. The Fortune 500 clients were very upset. Management fired some of the employees and others quit before being fired for this fraudlant act. This person would not even write there name, but we know who they are. We have nothing negative to say about them, we wish they would be more respectful and do the same. There will be consequences for this defamation.

This person knows very well that this firm does promote managers and I know they put a lot of effort into this program and since it did not work out for them, they took the immature route and wrote this article.

No matter what they reply with, they know the truth and the management does its best to provide an opportunity for others to learn, grow, and be promoted. The manager, Steve, actually started in the same entry level position as this person and was promoted to management.

Our firm has nothing negative to say about this individual and just wanted to stand up for self against Internet defamation since it is illegal and this person will face prosecution.

Management.
