Tmi Wireless - tmi Wireless Affiliate ripoff online Store Program This is a scam they want you to market their phones and wireless products for free Internet

TMI Wireless affiliate/online store program is a scam. They will not pay you for marketting their products. You have to pay for the paper and ink to print fliers to distribute for a company who will not give you credit for the sale. To think--I trusted these people with my social security #! When you contact affiliate support for help with marketting or questions no one answers. The person I signed up under never even thanked me or spoke with me again. Do not fall for this harmful, hurtful, wasteful scam.

TMI has always paid me, my average was 3.5 out of ever 10 applications. Note every 10 apps, not impressions or hits, on the other hand their impressions stats do seem to be high.

I myself have been paid even though it was a few years ago. I have been an affiliate for about 5 years or longer I really don't remember but I think there is some problems with getting credit for those sales especially those where the customer calls in and gives your code (fliers). Earlier on I busted them on not crediting our account on sales. In the beginning I was doing the fliers and ddoing alot of in person sales and also people I know were calling in using my code and I would wait to see for the orders to come thru and they never would. Since I knew the names of those people and I didn't see any of the sales come thru I had to call them up on it. I was flooding my area with those and at the time I knew I was the only one in my area doing it. I know for a fact there have been many more sales that I didn't know about that they are taking from the affiliates.

MY EXPERIENCE WITH TMI WIRELESS

#14Consumer Comment

  1. Kelly, who started this complaint thread, simply thought she was getting a job, and did not realize she signed up for a pay-for-performance affiliate program, which is much like running your own business. Those of us who understand affiliate programs know this. I have no harsh words for Kelly, and wish her the best.

  2. I am a TMI affiliate, who has generated many "thousands of orders, over several years." It was certainly not easy or quick, but few have achieved what I have with TMI Wireless. There have been a handful of various minor issues, but all were promptly addressed & resolved by TMI. Over several years and thousands of orders, I can live with a few minor issues.

  3. Affiliates are not employees. Affiliates are "independent contractors", and generally considered "self-employed". You are essentially running your own business.

  4. Cheap Targeted Traffic Websites: As a new affiliate, I must have emailed affiliate support a number of times asking if I was doing something wrong, or if their tracking was broken. Had I known about this complaint site, I would have probably torn into TMI like a bear in a bee hive :) It took me a while to realize that all those "cheap targeted traffic websites" were a joke.  I began seeing results when started posting ads and banners absolutely everywhere, and later on when I got my own "Personal Website", which is where I own the domain (I have more than one of these). This gave me the ability to print business cards and flyers with my domain name. In 2012, I have been given the inside scoop about some new affiliate marketing tools and programs. Sorry, but I'm not letting everyone know about these programs, because quite frankly, I want to get a head start.

  5. My Stats: I have several accounts with TMI, beside the one mentioned here (aid=8455). I needed several, because of how I market to gain an edge over the competition, which include other TMI affiliates. TMI doesn't really like this many accounts, but I have found that when you have good "shipped" numbers, you get some leeway. You will notice, some convert better than others. I have too many to list them all and these are just a few.

I am an affiliate of TMI Wireless  My own domain is http://www.cheapestsmartphone.net

I have over 10,676 click throughs and over 13,438 page views

I am ranked #1 in Google for "cheapest smartphone" and #2 for "unlocked smartphones for sale"

I have 0 cell phone sales since I joined 6 months ago

I have made 2 prepaid refill sales...about a dollar and a half in commissions

I don't have a clue what is going on, but I am done with promoting this company.

It is either something fishy, or their phones are not competitively priced, it makes no difference to me but I am through with them. If I can't get one sale with 143,000+ page views, I am wasting my time.

You be your own judge.

Tmiwireless: review of affiliate program

It's been a long time that I work with this program. I send over 8,000 targeted visitors on this site. I never received any credit for that. I know it's my own company that is why I work very hard. Someone in this forum said he drove 4,000 visitors and has 18 orders. So I know among my 8030 visitors, some visitors make purchases. Some of you tell that you have already been paid. Honestly I'm really confused about this. I also put my time and efforts, I was very enthusiastic to have my own compagny. I was hoping to make some extra money, I'm really disappointed. Thanks to all of you.

Today I discovered this complaint thread for the first time and, being the affiliate program manager at TMI Wireless, wanted to at least provide my perspective on this subject. One of the biggest issues affiliates have is that a commissionable sale occurs only when the customer has been credit-approved. For Chris to have 18 sales, only 1 of which is commissionable, is not typical. We typically will see an approval rate of anywhere between 20% - 50% (1 out of 5 orders approved to 1 out of 2 orders approved).

That said, the credit approval process is totally controlled by the wireless carriers and TMI has no control at all over whether a sale is approved or not. We pay out every affiliate sale that is reported to us. Chris - please contact me directly about your results.I can assure you that the reporting is very accurate and that there is no "stealing" going on. Generally, when you have really skewed approval ratios (like 1 in 18), then the customer demographic being sent to the website is such that they are of low credit quality. For example, if you bid on keywords like "bad credit cell phone", then you will get lots of customers that place an order, but never get approved. This is just one example, obviously, and there can be many factors that can produce a low-credit customer including the search engine itself (i.e., not all search engines have the same user demographic base).

We have thousands of affiliates and many (as you can see from responses on this board itself) have been successful and will attest to the fact that we pay our affiliates on time and are reliable.

In final, I want to say that we really do our best to try and make the TMI program as useful and profitable for everyone as possible. It is not a perfect system, and it does not work for everyone. Realizing that this is the case, it motivates me personally to wake up every morning and continue working on improvements so that we can win back affiliates like Chris and the original poster as the program evolves.

Thank you for your time.

I have been working this program for about a month now. I have driven almost 4000 targeted visitors to the site and have 18 cell phone orders. I think this order to visitor ratio is very low considering the type of traffic I have been delivering. But the really bad thing is that out of the 18 orders, they have only credited me with one. I think there has to be either a reporting problem, or they are just using people for free advertising and not paying people what they owe them. I have dabbled in affiliate marketing before and I know that this  conversion rate is so low that it defies logic. I put a lot of time, effort & money into this program and am very disappointed. I am out of work right now and had hoped this would be a good way to make extra money to help support my family. Right now I feel they have stolen food right out of the mouths of my children and would not recommend this to anyone.

Admittedly, I have only gotten one check because I have not been affiliated with TMI wireless very long. However, since it costs nothing to join this hasn't been much of a problem.

I do have my doubts about their rebate policies, though. I try not to push any phones that require rebates to potential customers, because having bought a phone through TMI myself I can attest to the fact that they are not as simple as filling out a form and mailing it in.

I for one am getting paid for my sales, its your own business and you should treat it like such, all of your advertizing is a write off anyway "if your running your own business"

just my two cents...great company!
