I purchased 2 cell phones with a Verizon Wireless plan from the CellPhoneShop.net which sent me to TMIwireless.com to complete the transaction.

This was a "Get 2 free phones with a family plan" offer which actually means that you buy 2 phones, then submit forms for 2 rebates for each phone, which are due at different times, including current wireless bills with narrow submission dates and copies of UPC for each phone and copy of invoice for each phone.

This purposefully complex and cumbersome rebate process is clearly meant to discourage busy consumers from filing for their rebates, which is in itself a bad business practice. But the worst part is that after I actually jumped through all those hoops and filed my rebate claims they actually had the nerve to deny payment based on false claim that I was not in compliance with their rebate requirements.

I kept copies of what I sent them and it is clear that I was indeed in compliance. I guess Cellphoneshop.net or TMIwireless or whatever other names they call themselves figure that busy people will give up at that point, and not spend time and money trying to figure out how to get the rebate they were due. But clearly this is a fraudulent business practice and surely I am not the only one they've stolen from.
