I signed up with Together Dating after "Monique" convinced me it would be a great thing to do. I mean, I was told they have "quality" members, men who mean business and are not there just to "date," but to find their special someone. "The men wouldn't spend $5K if they weren't serious!"

I was told they (Together profilers) completely and thoroughly check out the individuals and have many years experience in making matches based on the answers provided. The questions both written and verbal were extensive and I was very explicit with my answers.

Example: I am a very outdoorsy person and watch very little TV, if any. Looking for someone who also shares in the outdoors and likes being active, whether it be watching sports, participating in sports, socializing, horseback riding, etc. First match: Together said "Oops - he's not active." Second match: "I like watching movies from home, avid movie watcher." Third match: "I pretty much stay in as I have really bad arthritis and going out and about hurts me." Fourth match: On a whim we met for dinner, found out he's the guy that signed the same day as I did (I remembered seeing him).

While having dinner, we discussed why we joined Together and he told me it was to have sex with as many women as possible, that he could afford the $5K, so why not? I thought he was kidding at first because of the reasons neither of us wanted to do online dating. But then he proceeded to show me a pic of his son off his cell phone and when asked if I wanted to see another, he showed me a pic of his "Johnson" taken while he was on the phone making plans for dinner with me. Disgusted, appalled, angry, I left. He followed me to my car and proceeded to follow me home! If I had the guys info, I would have reported him to the police!

I have a great sense of humor and I am definitely not a prude, however, after the first 3 inappropriate and bogus matches, I immediately informed my counselor the next morning and asked that all matches be stopped and I would like my money back! She tried to convince me to continue after the holidays. She said they would place me on hold and it would automatically resume after 8 weeks. Not what I wanted, but I was angry and they promised to be more careful in their matches. It never resumed and even when I called them on it, was told "oops." I again asked for my money back. Nope, not gonna happen! They don't refund money or even refund partially for time (matches) not used.

They lied, they set me up with people completely opposite of my answers and then refused to reimburse me when I had such a bad experience... basically assaulted. Their consolation to me: "We've terminated his membership" and apologies re the bad matches. Yeah, some consolation.... $5K, plus interest later!

DO NOT SIGN UP WITH THEM, THEY LIE and do not make good on their word. "Remember, you should always be open with whom you meet, as dating only those within your criteria can limit your choices." Yeah, I met someone just fine and am now married... no thanks to them! Each month as I see the payment automatically deleted from my account, the hairs on my back stand up. They are liars!

I had this exact same problem with a similar company called "The Right One". They do the exact same thing. You pay $5K to get so many matches and they match you with people totally opposite of you. I had about 4 matches to start with. I called them after each date and informed them taht I did not like them and they sucked at matching me. The 5th match went well. We dated for 15 months. He had the same problem before me. They matched him with phsycos. One girl told him she would kill herself if he left her and this was after the first date.

After him, I paid them off and stopped the matching process. I hated the way they do things and that they sold all of our accounts (everyone in the system) about 3 times. The company itself actually went bancrupt and could take themselves out of the contract but wouldn't let me break it. It wasn't worth calling an attorney over. I don't regret it, though. I met a great guy and we're best friends now. That in of itself is worth more than the $5K I paid for it. I don't think I would have met him otherwise.
