Complaint Review: Together Training

Together Training Gena Wasley This horse trainer abuses horses. My horse has horrible fear issues after a few weeks with Gena Roseville, California

Gena Wasley with Together Training train horses through abuse, fear, and intimidating horses. I sent my horse to her to be started under saddle. When I went out there a week later I showed up that morning with out Gena knowing I was coming. I caught her hitting my horse in the face with her fist and she also had a cattle prod next to her. I took my horse home that day and fired Gena. She has yet to refund my money.  My horse has such horrible fear issues now, but with the help of another trainer she is getting better. This report is not so much about the money that Gena still owes me but just to warn other not to use her as a trainer.

How to make this right

I address this to the person who was willing to falsify such horrific claims against my character.

All that a person has is their character, their integrity. Somehow I offended you but not for the reasons you posted on this website. I am not perfect and I don't expect anyone else to be either. We all make mistakes, it's how we handle those moments that define us. I am grateful for all the people who allow me to save face even when I stumble (and I still stumble). I am not perfect but I always strive to be someone others can believe in. I apologize if I let you down. I am willing to NOT pursue this further if you post a statement admitting that your claims are completely fabricated. If you right this wrong I will view your actions as a demonstration of humility and bravery, traits I greatly admire.

Gena Wasley and I may have had a major falling out, but I can honestly say that this report is LUDACRIS.

Gena mentored me through the 2012 Supreme Extreme Mustang Makeover Challenge, and my mustang and I placed 35th out of nearly 100 competitors. She used nothing but a logical, smart approach in her training methods. I have never seen someone as light on horses as her.

Gena was practically my mother for 5 months, and I never saw her lay a hand on a horse in the wrong way.

Bold-faced smear campaign

Gena Wasley is an amazing trainer. She has worked with my horses for over 4 years and has done incredible things to help them become better animals. Her methods are patience, humility, understanding, and complete empathy for the animals in her tutelage. Gena takes on horses that everyone else has given up on and brought them back not only from the brink, but beyond so that they are healthy, trusting partners again.

She is a teacher in every sense of the word and has a gift to touch the spirits of both animals and people. Her humbleness and outstanding track record are what makes her tempting targets for those who are jealous, egotistical, and at the end of the day, downright cowards. It really makes me wonder how people can write such vile things about a truly decent, innocent person and still look themselves in the mirror.

understanding libel

#7REBUTTAL Individual responds

It is important to understand the difference between opinion, slander and libel.

On December 26, a fake Facebook account was created by someone attempting to gain access to my Facebook page. I saved all communication with the individual (including a copy of the fake profile picture) to my computer and forwarded the information to a business associate. I then reported the fake account to Facebook. This happens to coincide with the liable post on ripoffreport.com.

The address the individual gave as my address was obviously pulled from the internet, it is not my place of residence nor is it my work location, as I do everything I can to protect my privacy on the internet.

It is very easy to prove that the picture posted on February 6th of the horse with the bloody mouth is again, a picture pulled from the internet. The training approach I use is what makes my training method unique from most as I use a bit-less approach.

I am selective about my training locations and work in very public facilities, this not only helps promote my business but helps protect me from liability issues and false claims such as this.

Anyone who has any questions regarding my training methods or reputation should do so with someone who is not hiding behind a veil of anonymity. When I work with a horse, I follow up with a written evaluation using my official letterhead.

In regards to money owed, I am notorious for giving away my time for free and donating my skills to help programs such as Bureau of Land Management, rescue programs and therapeutic riding programs. This information can be found easily in numerous newspaper articles about me written in the Sacramento Bee in 2008 (which also included a video) and again in 2012, as well as on BLM sites.

This is not true!

This report regarding Gena Wasley is not true!  I have taken lessons from Gena and participated in her clinics.  I have also seen her ride horses at our barn and she is anything but cruel to these horses.  She is knowledgeable and has helped me gain my confidence with my horse!

I have seen Gena with her own horses and she's amazing!  There is nothing in this report that is true.  Not only that, but Gena has been training horses for years and the dates on this report is recent.  Hmmm...

In response to your story of how Gena dealt with your horse, I believe this is complete nonsense. You must seriously dislike her to report a lie as bold and completely impossible as this one. She is all about respect for the horse she is training and would never use such an extreme measure of discipline as a cattle prod. If you have actually been to one of the clinics she holds or even attended a lesson with her you would know she would never even mention using something of that sort. I just had a training session with her not two days ago and she completely solved our issue without one harsh move to my horse.

Also, you can truly tell how a trainers program is by their own horses. Now if her horses were flinchy and fearful, maybe I could believe this accusation. Luckily I have had the opportunity of meeting two of the lovely equine partners she owns and they are two of the most confident, well trained animals I have met in a long time. She doesn't used force in her training procedures, she uses communication and empathy to whichever horse she is working with.

If anyone is to believe this nonsense, then you have obviously never met Gena. She is one of the kindest souls I know yet is strong and confident in her training. This is why I enjoy her so much when she is working with my horse, as well as multiple other horses at our barn. I have seen nothing but excellent work from her and every horse is excelling in their training program since she has stepped into their lives.
