In response to the heinous and greed-based actions of the BLM (Federal Bureau of Land Management) against a Clark County family (Cliven Bundy), all levels of Nevada State and Local government have abrogated their responsibilities to serve and protect the interests of their citizens. When Bundy family members (including women) and protesters were inappropriately tazed and tackled to the ground by BLM agents, calls to 911 were made requesting medical assistance. Allegedly, the 911 operator told them not to call 911 again, and if they did, they would face "federal charges." Since when is any dispute concerning 911 a "federal" issue?
I know that Las Vegas Metro PD covers this area of Nevada. When I called asking for more information about emergency services to Bunkerville, they said they are not handling it and referred me to a Lake Mead police department. The Lake Mead police department said they were not handling it and referred me to 1-877-423-5817. When I called, it went to a voice mail: "Please leave a message for the Trespass Cattle Information Line." So, in effect, the State of Nevada and Clark County has abandoned it's lawful duty to provide emergency services to those in the Bundy Ranch area of Bunkerville. What a pathetic, shameful display of cowardice and irresponsibility. There should be civil suits filed against the BLM, Clark County and Las Vegas Metro PD.
The Coup de Gras that destroys all credibility of Governor Brian Sandoval, Clark County Sheriff Douglas Gillespie, and every other sellout at the State and Local level are the words of Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins. After Piute County Utah Commissioner Darin Bushman spoke with Collins to voice his concern with the strong arm tactics of the BLM, Collins called all of the "folks" from Utah "inbred b******" and if anyone from Utah was coming to Nevada to support the Bundy family, they "better have funeral plans." Collins went on to say that Utahn's should "turn their asses around and mind their own f**king business." What a classy way to talk to a colleague.
The only thing Collins said to Bushman that had merit was his critique of Clark County Sheriff Douglas Gillespie, saying he was "too spineless to excercise his jurisdiction."
Nevada citizens should take this matter deadly serious and take immediate steps to bring accountability and integrity back to our government, because they are not looking out for us. They have proven to be pawns of the federal government and who knows what oil, water and land interests that are behind this assault on Cliven Bundy and his family heritage that dates back to 1877 in Clark County.

Tom Collins--or whoever has replied with a rebuttal here--as a posing, phoney cowboy who grandstands on the back of a horse whenever you can get a photo op, you have no concept of the blood, sweat and tears required to ranch and graze land, and the benefits it provides to a local community, and ultimately the state of Nevada. Who does the BLM think they are to come in and unilaterally upend over a century of such a sacrifice to the land with their ivory tower imperialism, hypocritical conservation and one-sided fee structures? The BLM has violated their agreement with Cliven Bundy to use his fees to assist and help him maintain his rights? For that, Cliven Bundy not only does not owe the BLM a dime, but he should sue the BLM for a breach of contract.
But the real story here, Tom Collins, is your collusion with Harry Reid and his son, Rory, in approving the sale of land in Laughlin apparaised for $38 Million for a mere $4.6 Million, for the development of solar energy by a CHINESE company (ENN Energy). How much of this did you personally receive as a kickback, Commissioner Collins? I think a criminal investigation needs to be opened to investigate you personally, along with the other Clark County Commissioners to clean out the bottom of this swamp. Why would Clark County sell a piece of property valued at $38 Million for only $4.6 Million? The true value of that land didn't end up in Clark County coffers, but rather, they lined the pockets of the power brokers who were entrusted to represent the citizens of Clark County.
As a County resident, I promise you I will make sure you not only never see another political office, but that you spend the rest of your life behind bars for corruption. Thank you for being the impulsive hothead that you are and making those stupid comments to the Utah County Commissioner. As one who has family in Utah, I will say those Utah folks do their government far more honestly and efficiently than you frauds do. And it looks like your pathetic, wind-blown County Sheriff Gillespie has already had his a*s handed to him by Cliven Bundy and has been made to look like the cowardly fool that he is. There is still time for you to come clean and do the right thing (spill the beans on Harry and Rory Reid, etc.), because the game is over, and We, the People, who you were supposed to serve, have called your BLUFF!

Yes lets just conveinetly FORGET that this person IS breaking the law. Lets ALSO FORGET that this rancher has not paid to graze thier cattle on PUBLIC PROPERTY since atleast 1993. Yes, lets ALSO FORGET that this rancher is attempting to stand on a legacy issue, claiming that since his ancestors lived here and worked the land that he is ENTITLED to use it and NOT pay fees.
Get off the media bandwagon sheesh!!! This rancher IS BREAKING THE LAW!!! Just because the media puts a nice little spin on it doesnt make WHAT they are doing legal. Thats what ALL of this boils down to. Im sure IF that rancher pays thier fees to allow the cattle to graze on PUBLIC LAND then there wouldnt be a issue. You are attempting to support someone who is WRONG!!! THEY think they can buck the system in place on some fancifull claim of legacy. REALITY and the LAW do not work this way. It is NOT unjust for the BLM to collect fees for the use of THIER PROPERTY. Those are the same fees that fix highways, support the homeless, ect.
What YOU and the rancher are doing is d**n near a socialist claim. The rancher is using the land and not paying for it. Its no different then YOU living in a house and NOT paying rent. tHE PEOPLE WHO OWN THE HOUSE will not JUST ALLOW YOU TO CONTINUE TO LIVE THERE RENT FREE!!!!! You people are looking at this ranchers age and making a snap descion as to his guilt or not guilty status.
His age doesnt matter, he is not paying rent to do as he wants and the state of Nevada has the RIGHT to say NO!!! After almost 21 years dont you think the state has been patient enough??
