Tom Matson Dodge lead me to believe I had a three day cooling off period after purchasing a truck from his dealership late last Saturday night. He padded the sale price more than $8000.00 over the purchase price. $565.00 per month to own it. I returned the truck and said "No Deal" Sunday morning, but the financial manager "Goldie" said too bad so sad "I will get you a loan approval within the next three days whether you like it or not".

-Washington state law states a dealership has three working days to find loan approval or the contract is void.-

Today is the fourth day and Tom Matson says he has loan approval thru Bank of America. I called Bank of America, I verified no loan approval it's still under review. That would mean no loan. So, I call Tom Matson to let him know, no loan no contract, I want my trade in car back. He says I am approved but refuses to give the name of the lending institution, he says I should just trust him.

Let's see how many lies is that now?

I can't get my car back! I contacted the Attorney Generals Office, they say file a complaint. I contacted the BBB they say file a complaint. I contacted the Dodge Corporate Offices they filed a complaint, but also say I should get an attorney they can't do anything. I contact the police, they say Tom Matson ripped them of too, they say I should get an attorney, they can't do anything, it's a civil matter. Only two attorney's in Western Washington do civil mattters like this, only $100 per hour to talk about this case "They don't talk on the phone".

I have no car, my silly little car that is about to throw a rod, BUT IT'S MINE, the dealership has, and I can't do a thing about it. It's only worth maybe $500. Thanks Tom Matson Dodge, $500 is only pocket change to you but it's a means of getting to work for me.

The odometer on the truck was rolled back over 10,000

The story continues on....I hired an attorney and found that Tom Matson never was able to get that loan he said he had. Also, I now have documentation that the odometer on the truck he tried to sell me had been rolled back over 10,000 miles. I can't afford my attorney anymore. $900 later, for a few letters and phones calls I had to let him go when we had come to an agreement that I would get my trade in vehicle back. All I had to do was sign a paper that relinquises all recourse against Tom Matson Dodge. So far, I have not received anything from Tom Matsons attorney for me to sign and get my car back. The last I spoke with Tom Matson's attorney he said it is not illegal for Tom Matson Dodge to sell me a vehicle with the odometer rolled back without my knowledge and that Tom Matson does not have to give me back my trade in vehicle. Tom Matson and his attorney have both said go right ahead and file a complaint with the BBB and the dept of licensing, because they won't do anything anyway. In that document I was supposed to sign that they never sent me a copy of, I am supposed to retract any coments in ripoffreport.com in order to get my car back. I will be calling the Dealer Investigators Office tomorrow. Thanks Pam for that info, I hope it will work!

They filed the following rebuttal to the above Rip-Off Report:

Their name: pam

Their relationship to the company: Consumer Suggestion

Rebuttal:

Since you have no email address in your post I suggest here to you to call the Dealer Investigators office and file a written complaint against the dealer for "bushing". Have all your documents ready, copy them, and mail them in with your complaint. The phone number for the dealer investigators office is Tacoma (253)589-7100. Good luck, and be sure you let the dealership know you are turning them in before you mail your

complaint. It might get their attention to address you with more respect.

There is no 3 day cooling off period in Washington, unless someone comes to your home and sells you something on a contract. The fact is that you need to talk to dealer investigator to specifically address the time frames of the loan approval times.
