I have been using eBay for several years now, and I have had friends purchase vehicles on eBay Motors with good results. So why not, I figured that if I could buy a vehicle on eBay Motors for less than what I would pay retail at a dealership then it was worth a try.

I did a search for Honda Odyssey  and found a seller down in Houston, Texas by the eBay Username Tom1650 (http://myworld.ebay.ca/tom1650) and 12345Christina (http://myworld.ebay.ca/12345christina) and now Ashtom09 (http://myworld.ebay.ca/ashtom09). He had a good deal on a 2007 Honda Odyssey that he had repaired from what he called a "minor" accident, but appeared to be in  "like new" condition.  In the listing he stated that the Odyssey had been "repaired by professionals" and that there was "no frame damage" and that it had passed Texas safety inspection.

If you follow this link www.wix.com/soswos/soswos you will find that the Odyssey DID have significant frame damage, that the Texas safety inspection is meaningless, and that the seller Tom Nguyen, operating Tiffany's Auto Co with his wife, Christina Nguyen out of Houston Texas were completely unresponsive to my concerns until I left negative feedback on eBay... that's where the real story begins.

How did you come to the conclusion that it would be a good idea to spend money on a car that you'd never seen (much less test driven), from a dealer a thousand miles away, and without even having anyone local inspect it?    Anyone who is looking to unload a piece of junk is going to be looking for exactly someone like you.

You can't confidently buy a used vehicle without having it checked out by a reputable mechanic.  No doubt the dealer had you sign a form that you were buying the vehicle "as is" with no warranty implied (standard practice).    If you've never seen the vehicle, it's not possible to know if the "as is" condition is what they say it is.

Bottom line, don't buy a car sight unseen over the Internet.  There is no way to know what you're getting until it's too late.
