TomsBobs.com Clever Scam for Unsuspecting Customers Internet

All seemed to be well as I ordered a pair of shoes from an online company (Tomsbobs.com), an act I had completed many times before. Then, time passed, several weeks to be exact and my product finally arrived from an Asian country. To my dismay, upon trying on the size 10 shoes I had ordered, they not only did not fit, I was actually unable to even fit my foot into them. I thought to myself, I don't have a lot of time until my best friend's wedding, but I'm sure I can return them in a timely manner.

I followed the steps to the company's return process exactly. I contacted them so that tey could send me the address to return the shoes. In short, the return process turned into a frustrating disaster. The company failed in every way to hold true to their return policy, which by the way was listed plainly on their website. I would have understood had the shoes been only slightly variant in size, but my friend who wears a US size 8 could barely fit her foot into the shoes. I paid for a product that did not fit the description I ordered. After continuous emails back and forth arguing with the company about letting me complete the return process, I gave up losing money that I paid for shoes I did not receive.

Tomsbobs left me with the option of returning the shoes for a larger size (10 was the largest size they offered and didn't seem to understand that themselves), exchanging the shoes for a different style (the only problem is that I told them I needed this specific style and color for my best friend's weding, so that wasn't an option) or in their exact words:

     "Dear Customer,
We checked for you that we sent you the correct shoes and size according to your order.
If in this case, you want a refund, there are something attention you should know:
First, you should return them back to us with the shipping fee by yourself.
Second, you will cover the responsibility and risk of item when they are in shipping. Which means that you will make sure the items can not be damaged or lost.
Third, you should care that the items are perfect as we sent to you, you know, they can not be affected us to second sell.
Last, but not at least, only after we receive your parcel, we can refund you funds, but not 100%,we will also reduce the shipping fee for we shipped to you, hope you can understand this point. It will take a long time, 1-2 months, we can not guarantee, but we can never cheat you.
So considering above points, I don't think it is a good idea to you.
Hope you can reconsider our partial refund or exchange service." (which was 8% off of my next order. Make no mistake, I will never be ordering from this company again!)

First, their website says they are located in Washington, USA, so international shipping should not even be a factor to begin with. Second, their website states that "We will cover all the necessary shipping fees for Returns." (obviously false information). Lastly, 15 emails were sent back and forth between this company, and every time  proved their logic wrong using their own website's promises against their lies, they tried to come up with something new to hinder me from being able to return the shoes.

Please understand, my argument is no longer focused on the shoes but the principle. I have been utterly disappointed and at times enraged with Tomsbobs for their terrible work as a business and their fraudulous acts. They did not hold true to their promises as a company and have lied and manipulated these "promises" in the efforts of deterring me from returning the shoes. I simply wish that they would receive justice for what they did in my case. I also warn everyone to stay away from Tomsbobs; do not conduct business with them because I fear that this is how they treat all of their customers. Be aware: not all businesses are loyal and honest, as can be seen above, and I hope that some frustration has been saved because of my report.
