Tony Gariboy installed tile in house-used broken tiles & did poor installation-won't come back to make right Ripoff Dallas Texas
Tony Gariboy was hired as a contractor to install porcelein tile in the entire first floor of our house. I purchased the tile from Signature Floors and he oversaw a crew that did the actual install in December 2005. The final day of the installation, he requested that I leave his payment for him to take when the crew left our house, insinuating that he needs it to pay the crew right away. I paid him in full in good faith that the job would be done to our satisfaction - which I regret and will never, ever do again. Upon arriving home after work, I found that they had installed several broken tiles (in places that might not be noticeable at first - in corners, etc.). They also left the bright blue spacers between the tiles when they put in the light-colored grout and the spacers stick out on top of the grout - very visible!
I have put in numerous calls to Tony to come out to replace the broken tiles and remove (or at least cover up) the blue spacers between each tile. Since I only have a cell phone number for him, I have left message after message asking him to come and make things right. One time he "accidentally" answered when I called and said he has been really busy but will try to make time to come to our house the next week. Of course, he never did that. I have called him at least once a week since December 2005 - at the first, I called him 2-3 times a week. He has been paid in full but the job is completely unacceptable. Last week, on March 30, 2006, I left him another message basically telling him that I would hope that he would make good on this situation and that I will give him until Wednesday, April 5, 2006 to call me and set a time to come to our home. I still have not heard back from Tony Gariboy and the problems with the installation of the tile have still not been corrected.
I am going to submit a complaint to the Better Business Bureau also, in hopes that maybe I can make other people aware of his deplorable business practices, so they won't be ripped off by Tony as my family and I were.
