With a horrible streak of bad luck I thought it had all changed when I found this nice condo on Craigs List to move into with my family and elderly grandmother. I called Ron with Top Dog Leasing and he told me a complete stranger to just go check out the house and that a key would be in the laundry room. He said I could go by anytime. Knowing that sounded crazy I went and checked the place out anyway. It was perfect for us. I called him and asked what do I need to do now if I want to lease the condo? He said he would talk to the owner, share with her my story and see if she would be willing to rent to me. He called back same day and said the owner would rent to me but she wanted three months of rent for the deposit. I told him that I could not afford that. He gave me the owners number and told me to call her and introduce myself and share with her my misfortune and see if she would be willing to rent to me.

I called Ron with Top Dog Leasing the next day to see if the owner would rent to me and he said lets call her three way and work the deal out. At the end of the conversation the owner accepted two and a half months of rent for the deposit and all we had to do was meet with Ron, sign the contract and give him the deposit which we did 5/20/08 at his home in Laguna Beach. The owner told us that if the maintenance guy was done before 6/15/08 we could move in sooner. I started calling Ron with Top Dog Leasing for the owners signed contract and finally by 6/4/08 I got it. I called the owner and asked if the condo was ready to move into and she said almost and wanted to know when I was going to give her the deposit. I was shocked that Ron had not let her know that we gave it to him on 5/20/08. The owner did not seem too shocked though because on her other property he had not sent her the deposit yet either.

I started calling Ron and of course got the run around and now no return calls. Here we are 6/9/08 and the owner still does not have the deposit. I knew this was too good to be true but we were desperate for a place to live and I never thought that this could happen to us.
