Tornado Office Supply - Parker Anderson She confirmed verbal order, no quote mailed, sent items, changed prices, can't contact her ripoff Dardanelle Arkansas

February 2007 With over 30 years of office experience, Parker was quite the conperson talking me into a great deal. I confirmed her prices as my regular vendor's prices were very close to her pricing. I asked three times if the price of .39 cents was for 12 boxes so that made each box's cost less than 3 cents and she confirmed it. I again asked it for the pens and the markers. Oh yes, she said. I heard her correctly. 39 cents for a dozen boxes of clips sold in the gross.

So my final total was $544.88, correct, plus shipping. Great, I took & wrote down my order, confirmed with my boss by email what I was getting and what the total was before shipping, $544.88. Steal of a deal! That's right, Parker tried to steal money from our company by scaming us by creating an invoice that stated the total of near $6,000 ( or .39 a box of clips multiplied by 144. you get the idea.

Outrageous. Now listen, even a 5th grader knows a scam when they see one and I thought I did too. In fact, I am really good at spotting them out. but I had her verbal confirmation several times on the low prices and I was expecting that quote sheet to arrive. It never did, the supplies did and are in our closet. I left her a message and said. send a corrected invoice in the amount of $544.88 or you have 24 hours to pick the supplies up on your shipping account.

After that, it's all a gift to the company. No quote, no final total confirmed in writing, no "invoice" for over 60-90days later, just waiting for me to "forget" the original total of $544.88. Not here lady! Come on and mess with me and I will take you on! I can't wait to get a phone call and if she doesn't call, she just gave us a ton of free supplies. Oh, yeah, our company sells "loggers" like the 911 callback systems. yeah if she wants to contest what she told me, maybe I will replay the tape.

*** UPDATE **** May 21st I received a very incorrect invoice and reviewed all the Federal Trade Commissions guidelines on scams that we, as victims, could take against scammers like these listed.

The FTC states the company MUST give you a quote prior to receiving any goods with a STATED TOTAL on this quote. If the seller sends you items that are differ in BRAND NAME, differ in AMOUNTS YOU ORDERED, differ in PRICES YOU WERE QUOTED, you may keep these items as gifts!

Imagine that! So when I left a voicemail stating that unless a revised statement and quote was sent to us, we would not be paying for the items and they had 24 HOURS TO PICK UP THE SUPPLIES. IF THEY DID NOT PICK UP THE SUPPLIES, we would accept them as gifts. I left the voicemail twice. I recorded everything on paper and in emails to my manager and supervisor. The following week I received a phone call asking for payment and I said "No, according to my voicemail I left last week, you had 24 hours to come and collect the supplies and you didn't do that." The gal went on to say she never got the voicemail and I said that's not my issue, I left it twice. She got testy and said well, what are you trying to say? I said...What am I trying to say...Hmmm, that because you didnot pick up the items nor did you send an original quote nor did you respond within 24 hours of my voicemail, we gladly accept these items as gifts. And she said oh, ok....then I said OK and I hung up. I have received all my supplies in this scam as gifts and I have not heard a peep from this company or anyone claiming to be a rep for them.
Please go to www.ftc.gov webpage and read up on how you too can prevent the scammers from winning and how you to, under certain conditions, can accept items as gifts. I really hope this helps everyone!

Parker Anderson,

As per my telephone messages left with Nicole and on your answering machine on Tuesday, May 22, 2007, we reconfirm the following statements:

According to the Federal Trade Commission Laws, a telemarketer/seller must:

1. Send a quote or give the buyer a final total of all items offered for sale. You failed to do this.

2. Have buyer approval for any item that is sent that is of a different brand name, type, quantity, size or quality. You failed to do this.

3. The FTC also states it is illegal for any seller/telemarketer to misrepresent any information, including facts about the goods and services. You did this.

You verbally quoted me drastically low prices as your company was moving. You stated my cost would be thirty-nine cents for a dozen boxes of paper clips. That is less than three cents a box. I asked you to confirm this price and you did. You confirmed low prices on several items to me. However, your invoice stated outrageously inflated prices that I never agreed too. My request for a corrected invoice with a total of $544.88, was not answered. You were given verbal notice on your answering machine, that you could send us a corrected invoice or your company had 24 hours to pick up your supplies, at your cost, which you did not do.

We will revert from sending you any payment unless we get the corrections made as stated above.

Thank you.

I have not heard from them as of todate. Futher updates will be posted as they occur.
