Complaint Review: Toshiba America Medical Systems

I bought CT scanner in early 2003 from Toshiba america.
1 year after I bought the CT scanner, They ask me to buy extended warrenty but I did not buy it. Annual fee for warrenty is $100,000.00.

I have had regular chech ups from Toshiba America 3 to 6 month interval, each time I have paid about $2,000.00.

Last week I had some mechanical problem in my CT scanner, I called service from Toshiba America for repairing problems.

The service person from Toshiba told me to exchange whole computer system which is about $44,000.00 and labor charges $380.00 per hour.

I did not have much choice to get other chiefer service except Toshiba America.

Next day He installed new computer system in my CT scanner with same error messages from my scanner.
He said that He needs more parts to fix the problems.

He ordered nothing but came with his supervisor.

They shut the door and did not let me and my workers in CT room.

Finally they fixed problems an dgave an invoice $14.000.00. I was happy because I do,nt pay $44.000.00 but $14,000.

In the invoice, they replaced 9GB hard drive from IBM and reloaded software.

They charge me $7,961.80 for part which is 9 GB hard drive.

That model was discontinued from IBM, and I can buy only refurbished one with $190.00 only.

They also charge 17 hour labor with rate of $380.00 per hour.

I could not believe the fact big and well known name of company is doing very unreasonable things for their nice customer.

I am going to hire lawyer to fight this dirty scam.
