Total Warranty Services TWS Would not pay GAP benefits which I purchased. west palm beach florida
They are a total scam and literally do nothing but STEAL YOUR MONEY. I purchased GAP Ins. From TWS when I bought my new vehicle in January 2016. It was a total loss in September 2017. My insurance company covered all but $2,000 of the balance. I filed my claim with TWS and they paid $180..... Seriously??? They stated because I deferred a payment the Christmas before that I no longer qualified for the total reimbursement. When I purchased my vehicle I did not receive one shred of paperwork from this company. The dealership stated I'd receive all the policy paperwork from TWS in the mail, but I never received anything going over policy or what could potentially cause me to "lose" coverage. It makes absolutely no sense. They received their full payment for coverage upfront when I purchased the vehicle. Then when my loan company offered a deferment around the holidays, as a single mother, I thought this is nice.
Then find out a year and a half later that deferring a payment through "the loan company" not TWS, somehow screws my GAP coverage??? This has been a horrible battle and now I just got served with a Civil Summons from Ford for the $2k balance the TWS refuses to cover. They were supposed to cover up to 120% which would have been $4,300 and all that it took to cover the balance at the time was only about $2,000. I also found out recently that the dealership I bought my car from no longer uses TWS for GAP ins. due to so many horrible issues with them. If they spent more energy actually helping their customers they would get a lot farther and if I had to guess, based on what I've read, they won't stay in business long. It's pathetic and I am hoping that if they respond to this review, it's not with a math lesson like the others. I don't need a math lesson on their jacked up way of getting out of providing the service they are selling. I have gotten my attorney involved since receiving the Civil Summons and advised the only way to truly hold these people accountable is to countersue them. So now it's going to cost everyone more than just the $2,000, but this has got to stop.
I work in Financial Crimes and Financial Intelligence and I can tell you what they are doing is going to catch up with them. They need to make things right. I should be focusing on other more important things in life instead of informing people via review postings to save them from the same disaster.
