Complaint Review: Touchstone Research Group

Touchstone Research Group lied about getting me my DD214 within 2 to 3 days New York, New York

I recently called touchstone after finding them online.  I was attempting to get a copy of my DD 214 in a hurry because I am applying for a VA loan.  They promised me that I would have it in 3 days, and low and behold, 9 days later and they have yet to even located it.

I called them almost 30 times in one day before finally getting ahold of a person.  After giving that person my name, he proptly hung up on me.  The next person I finally got on the line told me she would contact the researcher on my case to find out what the hold up was and call me back.  She also gave me what she called her personal line so I could call her directly.

I called the line today and it seems to be a fax line or something, just makes a few beeps.  I called back and got another person on the line who told me he too would look into the issue and call me back.  Again, I have heard nothing.  Also, he told me he cannot divulge infomation about the researcher looking for my paperwork, nor can he get me in touch with any higher up supervisor.  Lastly, he says there is no way he can refund my money.

This company seems to be clueless about any type of customer service and they surely could care less about helping out military members.

For technical purposes, I placed my order on Friday June 17,  today is June 27, and they have all but guaranteed me that they have yet to mail anything.  Also, any e-mails that are sent to them go completely unanswered.

Why pay for something you can get for free?

Do you know if you guys go to either http://archives.gov or http://www.archives.gov you can get you DD214's for free? From the looks of it you can even pull up your DD214's and download and/or print them up yourselves.

Stop paying 3rd parties to do something you can do yourself for nothing.

Sorry for the late update but I found this while I was looking for someone else that did the same thing through a different company.

Please try http://archives.gov or http://www.archives.gov . Please note the .gov at the end if you do .com you will go to another site.

I'm feel ya, Jimbo

Because I'm going to write my own rip-off report, I will keep this short. Jimbo, I feel ya and I believe your a real consumer. Ya see, April 13 2011 I ordered my DD214, it's been eight months and the only reason they even contacted me since April is because I've been demanding a refund. They've hung up on me several times and have even blamed me for they delay. For more information on what they're doing to me just check out my report. I'm also giving them a bad review on their website (like they'll publish it they edit their customer reviews.. real honest right) and I've already started reporting this to Federal Trade Commission and other such agencies.

We have processed well over 20,000 such requests and are the premier provided of expedited military records.  We have hundreds of positive reviews at our website.  We have no JIm, Jimbo or James who placed an order on June 27.  This is a dirty-tricks by, most likely, envious competitors.
