Complaint Review: Tower Of Power Sales Pacific Coast Clearing Services INC

Seriously, the person whomever that may have been that decided to do a basic bashing of PCCS is obviously one who got fired and not happy with that outcome. I have to say that I have worked for this company as well as another company ISS since 1994, and I have to say that these companies are not at all scams or rip-offs. I know this first hand, and I have even tested it out myself by sending Magazine Subscriptions home to my own family. Now that they are over loaded with all the magazines I have sent to them, I can tell you that it is in no way a scam. I have gotten the "so-called" daily alloweance ... what he calls $5.00 is actually $20.-$30.00 per day above and beyond your weekly pay. And the reason that you are to leave $300.00 on your books, which it isnt mandated that it be an exact $300.00, but a good idea, is so that in case someone does cancel you are able to be covered and not charged the amount later. You get paid every single week, some only $250.00 above their $20.00-$30.00 a day 7 days a week adding up to $140.00-$210.00 in addition to the minimum of $250.00..... isnt that above minimum wage???? I mean come on people, Your hotel, travel, company cars, and food, are all included. That doesnt even add into accountthe 2 paid vacations per year to Vegas or Mexico, or Florida.... THAT ARE ALL PAID FOR, and its where you get bonuses in excess of $1000.00 and or the TRIP that you have worked so hard to get!! Seriously, I myself have won 3 contests, I of course chose to cash in those trips instead of going on them, because they were worth $3000.00.... Um, Who wouldnt??  I feel that the people on these sites that are complaining, are only complaining, because they didnt do the job they were asked to do, and fired, i.e. sent back to the origional place of hire, or they are just sour over something they dont want to admit. Sorry, your not happy,.,,, but I loved working for PCCS!! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

In December of 2003, I was jobless, homeless and had no where to go. I found an ad in a free newspaper looking for people ages 18-27 to work as mag sales people and travel the world. A friend and I called the 1-800 number to find out more about it. They asked us for our social security numbers and a few other questions. Then stated that they would call back and they did. When they called back they had our bus ticket confirmation numbers to go to San Antonio, TX. When we arrived we discovered that we were now active members in training of what they call a "mag crew." The objective of the job was to work 12 hour days going door to door saleing magazine subscriptions to people. Here is the catch, we are to pose as kids in a contest to win a trip to anywhere in Europe. They trained us to learn our spill, or what they called "our first five." They called it that because we are to use that spill until we make our first 5 sales. It is the basic "hi, my name is ...... and you are ......?" It is what they teach you to get the customer comfortable with you in order for you to get into their house. Their rule is if you get inside then you more than likely will make a sale. Anyhow, the members of the "mag crew" go through daily trainings and monthly meetings, like you would in any job. Here is some more "catches" to the job. You are given 300 dollars when you start to put on your books. There must always be at least 300 dollars on your books at all times. That is what they consider your 2 weeks training payment. You are given a 5 dollar a day allowance to pay for meals and such. You work from 8am to 8 sometime 9 at night and walk almost the entire time door to door. You are expected to make 3 sales a day of mag subscriptions that cost anywhere from 25-100 dollars. Any sales you make, you only get about 5% of the profit. That 5% goes on your books. On Sunday, everything is tallied and anything over 300 on your books you are able to take for yourself. Your books are charged daily for your board and your 5 dollar allowance. You have to make at least 3 sales a day just to pay for your "bills"(your board and allowances for the week). It is worse than slave laboring and the mag crew members assume that the people who order will get their subscriptions. Anything that happens after the sale is made has nothing to do with the mag crew. I worked for Pacific Coast Clearing Service Inc's mag crew "tower of power" My supervisors name was Matt. Marco as mentioned above was an assistance of Matts and took most of our orders over the phone. He was working on getting his own crew so he could make more money off of his crew members. I was so desperate for a place to live and a job that I joined this mag crew, but I must warn all consumers out there to be weary of them. I feel sorry for those who are on these crews because I have been there. Most of these youngsters were just like me with no job and no home. These directors of these crews feed off of them and take all they could and run. Luckly, when I was done with being one of their lackies they did pay for my bus ticket where ever I wanted to go. I ended up going to Tennesse and staying with my brother. I hope no one else will fall prey to them
