Toyota Financial Services Trying to charge me $1100 intrest on extensions, which I paid, intrest is included in your payments, so they have charged me over $200.00 per month for the extensions. Cedar Rapids, Iowa
I have been a loyal toyota owner for a while. My first was 1986 tercel financed through gmac. my second 2003 echo financed through toyota financial. my sister signed for me because i had some bad credit. i have made every payment. when hurricane katrina hit everyone deferred car payments or other payments due to the hardship. i worked for a casino and my job was lost. i relocated to montana, trying to find a job and keep up with payments. i ask for an extention in april 2006 until i got my first paycheck. Due to the lack of jobs and cut backs i ask for another extension in april 2009 because my unemployment had been late. the lady i spoke with at that time said that would put my pay off in dec. 2009.
oringinal payoff was july 22, 2009, i said fine i understand. because of how my checks came the payment was made a month behind starting aug. 2009 when i was laid off. i thought i made my last payment in jan. 2010, which was dec. 2009 payment, now i get phone calls saying i owe $1100.00 in interest for the 5 extension. interest is included in your payments, i made all 5 extention payment and now they want to charge me over $200 a month for interest on the extensions. 5 times $200 = $1000.00, with $100 left over. i had some hard times when i was with gmac, but was never treated the way i have been with toyota financial services, and no one can explain why i owe this interest if it was in the payments i made.

You may be stuck paying this but at least you can make them explain it in a written format so you can figure out just how and why they think they can do this. Contact them and politly ask for a complete print out of the account from day one. By phone to start and by registered letter if they won't. I think you will find that they penalised you for every late or missed payment even though you called etc. I have run into this myself and when the loan officer said ok it meant we won't bother you but there will be fees and additional inrterest. Good Luck
