Toyota of Lewisville, Texas refused to honor their advertised two day sale of repo'd vehicles for $49 down and take up payments of $169. I was told by their sales person, Susan Foley, that for this sale my job was my credit.

I was asked to submit the simple credit application online and she would have someone call me after it was received.

No one called, so I called her back and was instead routed to Anthony Solis who told me that I would have to put additional monies (TT&L) down. I pointed out to him that this was not in the commercial, or what I had been told by Ms. Foley-- and in fact was the classic bait and switch advertising.

Mr. Solis said that he would have to check with his sales manager and would call back but he never did. My subsequent messages for the general manager, Jimmy Cleveland, were not returned.

Toyota of Lewisville scam update

#2Author of original report

Tue, January 23, 2007

Since filing my original report, I have learned that this dealership runs this scam over and over again, despite telling you that the sale is limited to two days only, when you call. By "fine printing" the requirements that they don't want you to know, I suppose Toyota of Lewisville is in compliance with the law. But, to me, compliance is one thing when it is used to circumvent the laws and deceive potential customers like myself. I don't know who, in their right mind, would not run for the hills when Toyota of Lewisville evades their spoken word from the get-go. It seems to me, that if you want to have long term success, you honor your word. An old saying applies here: "The customer might not be right, but they are NEVER wrong." So, congratulations Toyota of Lewisville-- you win. I couldn't get you to keep your word and honor your promise. Aren't you proud of all the cars you DIDN'T have to sell???
