I bought a car from the dealership and was told that my car deal was done. I called the finance company and they told me that I was not approved for the car loan. when I was told that I was not approved we placed a stop payment on the check unitl we had the finance problem solved. I called for 2 weeks straight terying to figure out what was going on.The dealership called me because the wanted the down payment because the finance company paid them for the car. I told them I have to get it verified. The general manager told be bring me my down payment or bring my f**king car back. 3 weeks later the finance company called and said the dealship made a mistake on my credit app and they had fixed the issue. during this time the dealship called and harrased me, cursing me out and telling me they were going to file criminal charges for the stop payment. They called my job and left very detailed voicemail about our situation which violates the Texas Debt Collection Pratice ACT. I took the car back and made sure I took video and pictures of me doing so. The general manger called me saying he wants 1000 dollras  for putting miles on the car and that if I didnt he was filing criminal charges and that i am a piece of s**t. The general manager is very unprofessional his name is Steve Grogean he does not care about customer satisfaction all he cares about is money. He called my job making threats and he was told by my boss not to call and he said he was going to call allday, every hour on the hour. He cursed me out made threats saying I know where you live etc. I had to call the Richardson Police dept to have the harrasment stopped. The sales manager Ceaser Sotelo is not freindly and does not car about customer satisfaxtion as well he made threats to file criminal charges and when I returned the car he sent someone else to get the keys from me when he told me he was getting the keys from me  and inpsecting the vehicle. I told hm i WOULD RATHER HE AND i DO IT BUT HE SAID EITHER YOU GIVE THE KEYS TO WHO I SAID OR TAKE THE CAR BACK WE ARE FILING CHRGES ANY WAY IT GOES. BOTTOM LINE THE IS THE WORST DEALERSHIP EVER.I AM DONE WITH TOYOTA BECAUSE OF THESE GUYS. I TALKED TO THE CORPORATE OFFICE BUT THEY SAID THAT THERE IS NOTHING  THEY CAN DO HE OWNS THE DEALERSHIP.

No not what they were doing..what YOU did.

You stopped payment on the check but FAILED to return the car, at that point and time they are right you could have been arrested for anything from Fraud to Grand Theft Auto.  Every event after that was the result of this and caused by your fradulent actions, and the laws you mention such as the Debt Collection Act do not apply in cases of fraud on behalf of the borrower.

You don't get it both ways, you don't get to keep the down payment and the car.  Had you returned the car at that same time, you would still have issues but at least you could be in a position to make some justification for it.

The fact is the finance contract gives THEM the power to cancel the contract in case they can't get final approval. It also gives them the right to convert it to a "rental" and charge you the appropriate daily fees and mileage if they can't get approval.  This is standard in just about every finance contract.

You can come here and give 1001 reasons why they are wrong, how you have talked to dozens of attornies and government officials and been told you are right, and how you will "bring them down".  But if all of that is the case then why haven't filed suit against them for all of these violations?

If by some chance you have sued them, where is the court and docket information?  If you try the "Well I don't want
to make that public"  Remember that suits are public record.  If you try the "I wll sue them...you will see".  That is
generally code for "I am saying that now to make my story sound better but have no intention of actually doing that".
