TracFone Minutes disappeared from my phone Ripoff Miami Florida

I have had my TracFone since January 2005. My purpose in having a cell phone is merely for emergencies and necessary calls. Certainly not for just chatting. My phone may not even be used for 2 weeks at a time.

My original number of minutes started out at 750 minutes.
Low and behold I looked one day, and I had lost around 300 minutes somewhere. Knowing I didn't use these minutes, I called TracFone to inquire about the situation and was told that there is no record available of calls made by a customer, to access.

Now, you can bet your house on it, that if the law enforcement or an investigator needed your phone records, they would certainly be able to get them. Do you think TracFone would acknowledge that this was possible? Of course not!! According to them, there is no record of calls or minutes used by any one customer. If that's the case, then how does your phone know how many unused minutes to display?

The thing that really burns me up, is that they state that when you have finished a call, to press the end button on your phone.

Now I can understand this, on the really cheap phones. The phone I purchased from TracFone is the Motorola TFV601CC which cost $99.99. This is a flip phone, and everyone I have talked to that has one exactly like mine, says that when you flip the lid closed it ends the call you were on, for you, in the same way that when someone calls you, the call is answered when you flip the cover open. SO...my minutes couldn't have been used because I didn't end a call properly. I even asked a Verizon employee and they verified that a call was ended when I flip the cover closed. I think I'm being hoodooed here. If anyone can correct me on this, I would appreciate it.

Program the Phone

Most phones I have seen, including my new flip phone from Verizon, you have to go in and change the programming options so that the phone will answer or end a call when you flip it open or close it.

Tracfone is a Honest Company

I have had Tracfone service for 2 years now and am a loyal customer. I have never had a problem with Tracfone and have always gotten the answers to my problems. They are correct names and phone calls are not tracked that is one of the great things about this company is the complete anonymity unless you choose other. Also a Flip Phone ust be prgrammed to turn on or off when flipped open or closed. It does not automatically do that. You can find out if you have it set that way in the Settings menu of your phone. Also the minutes expire after 60 days unless you purchased a one year service contract card so purchase only the amount of call time you will use in 60 days or less otherwise you will loose that time. They are very clear about that when you purchase and activate phones.
