I ordered a pre-paid phone from Tracfone Wireless on October 15, 2003 and cancelled the order within one hour since my friends told me they charge ridiculous prices for the air minutes. They told me that they would try to cancel the order and to call back in one hour to confirm they did get the order cancelled.

Well, after one hour they could not confirm anything because they had not heard back from their warehouse (in Reno, NV - and they have no phone contact with them - just e-mail). I called back just before 5:00 pm that day and they told me they still had no confirmation that the order had been cancelled.

The next day I received a notice from Fedex that a package had arrived and that I need to sign for it... It was the phone that I had cancelled.

It took about 10 days before I received a refund from them. Ok, I can see that, but it was less the shipping and handling. I just got off the phone with them now and was told that the order was never cancelled because it only takes 15 minutes for them to get the order filled and ship it.

I do not see how that is possible since Fedex takes a while to come and pick thing up, unless they have a driver from Fedex sitting there waiting to ship every time someone orders a phone. I do not feel that I should have been charged the shipping fee ($15.35) and should be refunded.

I think this is a fly by night company. I just cannot believe that they have no phone contact with their warehouse - just e-mail. That does not sound right. And they will not even give out the information to customers that want to complain.
