Trade Electronics ripoff Total Fraud and Scam!! Hollywood Florida
Hello friends, we are an international import export company here in the US. I felt quite angry at reading some of the posts here especially the one from our friend in Tennessee.
Please note I have reported this individual/company & website to the FTC and attorney general. Both have assured me of the dismantling of the website and will take the appropriate action necessary.
I wanted to offer a few suggestions to you to avoid these despicable scammers.
1. If you are willing to send 10K+ to a company (domestically speaking) why not spend $200.00 for air fare to meet with them first and visually inspect your items? I actually sent one of my employees there unannounced, to meet with them and take photos. I knew immediately Trade Electronics was a total fraud.
2. Use Google Earth to determine authenticity of address. If it's an empty lot, field or in this case a small group of buildings, no further inquiries may be required.
3. Use an address search for businesses in that exact vicinity, call them and inquire about their reputation (company you are seeking information about) and if the location actually exists.
4. Generally speaking, ANY wholesale company who publish pricing on their website is fraudulent. This is to capture your immediate interest (due to the favorable pricing) with the intentions of scamming you. The usual channels with most reputable wholesalers and manufactures are, you must email said company and a confidential pricing list is provided. Since the inception of my company (15+ years ago) we have never encountered a single legitimate supplier who advertises pricing for the general public to view.
5. Call ALL numbers provided; in this case Trade Electronics' business number was in fact a Nextel phone, another red flag!!
I trust some of you will find this information useful. Good luck to you all
