On Memorial Day Weekend, I met Shelly William doing face paints for kids at a YMCA sponsored event at the YMCA park on McNeil and Parmer. She told my kids about a performance called GREASE that she thought they would have fun learning and performing in. Both my kids got really excited that they only had a few more spaces left. I payed Shelly a check for $165. She told me to leave the name part on the check blank because it was to be given to the lady who does the uniforms. It all seems so real because she stayed at the face painting long after the event was over, she was very convincing with photo albums and pictures of her previous performances.

I was told the meetings are on Sunday. But that evenings she called me to tell me that the mtgs will be cancelled because of memorial day weekend. She mentioned to meet me later that week at the YMCA to give me directions to the class location and the practice booklet. The class location was at Americas Best Karate in Round Rock from 2 - 4 pm on Sundays. We got there on Sunday at 1:30 and waited until 2:30. No one else but one other lady showed up. She had also signed up on the day I did at the YMCA event.

I called Shelly up. She answered her phone. Said to me that owner of the Karate place did not open the place up because he was out of town. I asked her "what about all the other parents who had children in the class. Where were they". She said they were notified but we will for sure meet the following week. The following Sunday, again we showed up at America's Best Karate. No one there. Door locked. My daughter was ripped up in tears, again. Shelly gave her so much hope that she would shine in such a performance. On Saturdays she would be so excited and look forward to Sunday because of her "first" drama class. I have since then called and left several messages but no return calls from her.

Police says it is a civil matter not criminal. Can't bring her to court. There is no address to mail correspondance to. I have been ripped-off and I know that I am NOT the only one.

Please tell all organizations not to allow face painting by Shelly Williams.
