Trans Am & R J Trucking / Jonathan Garcia Stole my money while working for Jonathan Garcia, kept last two weeks & dumped me to the curb 1,300 mi from home Paducah Kentucky
I am new to trucking, but learned the hard way. SUB-CONTRACTED under Jonathan Garcia (lessor of Trans Am trucking). He takes advantage of neby drivers by promising big checks, lots of off time, says would pay 'all miles driven' from his team driving with me. Truth is he began stealing off my miles from the very first check. With him 5 months, he found me to be tracking all driving stats... so he booted me 1,300 mi. from my home, stranded without pay (happened conveniently on Fri./payday).
I cant secure an attorney who will handle this (labor dispute, too little $ I guess). Can sue via 'his' state of Kentucky, but there, they have a max small claims of only $1,500. The labor commission has said I am sub contracted not an 'employee', thus they don't handle this! (seems as though he has covered his bases).
One other employee fired, two quit within the short 5 months with this scam artist. He blatantly stole thousands from me & kicked me to the curb for fresh newbies to rip off they're long miles running for him.
HOW CAN WE STOP THESE SCAM ARTISTS????

As an Owner of a Company, it is my full responsibility to ensure that contracted personal adhere to the Regulations of the Department of Transportation and do not put people in harms way. This individual that made this comment is not a professional driver in my option. I received numerous reports of excess speeding and drinking within eight hours of driving time. I personally assigned myself to the truck and ran teams. The final straw, the driver went down a mountain on I40 in excess of 80mph with 43,500lbs in the trailer. This is why the drivers contract was canceled. The person in question was escorted out of my property by the local Sheriff Department, and I choose not to press charges.
