On June 23rd, 2010, my search for a inexpensive care repair ended so I thought when I found Tranone.com online during my daily search. So I called Tranone and spoke to Kristina who is located in NY. Everything that she told me about what could be wrong with my car sounded oh so good because other transmission shops in my area wanted too much money. So Kristine agreed to have my car towed to a shop in my area at no charge to have my transmission looked at. My car was taken to a shop in Hagerstown, MD and I was told that it would be no problem for me to go and visit the shop that my car was at. I was quoted $1,291.00+hardparts for a complete rebuild of my Transmission. I was then contacted on June 24th, 2010 and was told that I would have to pay a deposit in the amount of $894.00 to get the work started and to purchase all the parts. I was told that the deposit would be deducted from my $1291.00 quote so I had no problem with that. Then I was sent a contract to sign for the deposit and work to be completed. I filled everything out and sent it back in and they had problems with one of my credit cards because it had my maden name on it. I never seen a company care about that before...

So all was good until a few days ago, when I called the shop to find out what was going on with my car. When I called the owner said that they just got authorization to pull the transmission the day before. I then thought oh somethings going on because my rep @ tranone said that she was waiting on the parts list from the shop and that the transmission had already been pulled and tested. Big red flags went up then, oh now they are lying to me and I have been nothing but honest with them. Tranone does not have a probelm with their customers going to the shop but they do not want the customers and the shops talking??? I found out why today. So I told the Owner of the shop to call me and let me know first what was wrong with my transmission that way when my rep called, I would already know if shes giving me crap so here it goes. The owner of the shop said that my transmission was not that bad, it did need some things repaired but it was only a list of like 4 things wrong with the transmission that he gave me he told me that he sent the report at 8:30 this morning and also sent them his price so they should be getting back to me. He said that he could not give me the price that he gave them just that he had sent in his report. So heres the good part, it's like 12:45 pm, while im on the phone with the guy at the shop, Kristine with Tranone calls on the other phone so I put her on speaker so that the guy at the shop and everyone around me can hear her crap. She says " Hey sweety, listen we just got your report from the shop like 30 minutes ago and I did not want to be the one to call you and tell you this, with you going through so much right now, but I just got off the phone with the shop and they are saying that your transmission is completely fried"!! The guy from the shop is going crazy because hes like they are really giving us a bad rep and I never said any of that. so here goes Kristine, " I know sweet heart I know I really didnt want to bring you the bad news but they said that your transmission was so bad that they want to put in a refurbished unit". I stopped her there and wanted to burst her bubble but I told her that I would have to call her back. My sister called her back for a rundown of the same bull crap story that she gave me.

So I found out that Tranone sent the shop that my car is at 3 other cars so that makes 4 cars 4 customers at the same shop and I know you have probably guessed by now, they did the exact same thing to all of us and they told me not to even try reversing the charges because they will get their money one way or the other. I hope other people read this report and dont ever ever use tranone because they will rip you off. But im not stopping here so they got the right chick im taking it all the way to the top. They are not even listed as a company with the BBB. The attorney generals office in my area have been made aware of this situation. so to end this report, they have asked me for another deposit today to pay for parts in the amount of $1,133.80(thats what the  other deposit was for) Oh and the shop never seen any of that money either so dont be mad at the shop, they got scammed too!! and once the job is done I am to take the remainder of $800 to the shop and pay them before I can pick up my car??? what does that tell you?? All the money I have sent them and other victims like me have sent them has gone in their pockets and we still have broken transmissions, we r broke and looking stupid at the same time.

TranOne.com Scam Larry Duncan

I also had an almost identical experience with TranOne. Except here in Texas the shop they supposedly took my vehicle to was nothing but a warehouse. Not even licensed with the city as a business. Big time scam, taking peoples vehicles, lying about repairs needed & filing mechanics liens against the vehicles. They then fix minor problems & sell the vehicles out of the same warehouse. I am trying to get my vehicle back. I have filed deceptive trade with the Attorney Generals office, & am seeking Legal Advice. I will not let them get away with this scam!
