I was looking for a reasonable transport company to ship a vehicle from North Carolina to Riverside, California and Transport Relief sent me a quote of $975.00 all inclusive quote. I explained that the vehicle needed to be picked up within two days or I would face additional storage fees of $25.00 per day. After confirming the details, shipping day and delivery date I filled in a form with all the shipping details and signed an authorization with a $200.00 deposit.

On the day my vehicle was to be picked up in North Carolina I called Transport Relief for a one hour window so I may provide a time to the towing company to be at the storage lot to release said vehicle. Transport relief told me that they were not able to secure a transporter as my fee of $750.00 is lower than normal and I need to up the amount in order to entice a driver to want to pick up my vehicle immediately. I asked how much additional monies would be required and I was told that $150.00 will do the trick. Transport Relief claimed that all the trucking companies are busy with the flood area transports and was getting between $1,000.00 and $1,300.00 to make deliveries.

I received the below email after I cancelled service with the company.

If you look thru their web site you will see that they don't own any trucks. They tell how their carriers are fully insured, which is the whole point, the trucking companies that might do any work for them are not their carriers.

I would also bet that anyone that does any work for them demands payment up front, these brokers knows what most truckers charge but they lie to keep the money flowing. Also he couldn't deliver because no one is going out of their way because of the deal he made with you.

The biggest expence most of these brokers have is a computer and a telephone, the trucker has $200,000 worth of equipment to pay for, who should you be paying, the guy that is going to lie and then sue you or the guy that can get the job done. Brokers are the used car salemen of the trucking industry. If they don't own a truck, you don't want to talk to them.

Best of luck with your future shipments and God Bless.
