Transport USA Inc Deceptive practices Fort Lauderdale Florida
We were contacted by Transport USA regarding moving some items from NJ to Fla. I was reassured they were doing the transport. I was adament that the were not brokers because we had a moving problem previously. I was reassured that they transport themselves and have trucks going up and down the coast daily.
We agreed on a $1244 price and I left a $311 deposit. When the movers arrived at the NJ residense, they said they knew nothing aboout the deposit so could not credit it on the bill and to check with the people in Fl. They were not Transport USA but a different company Moving Express and Storage. They wanted to add an extra $300 for 2 boxes, one for a TV and one to go arounf a curio cabinet that was to only have a blanket. We refused so they added $100 for the boxes.
They were supposed to deliver on July 12. They were a no show, no call. We tried calling them with no response. On Sunday afternoon, they showed up and demanded $1302, again no credit for the deposit. They said if we didn't pay them immediatedly they would take our items back to New Jersey. There was no where to get a "Postal" money order on Sunday afternoonn. We live in the country. I had to use our mortgage payment cash.
During this time we had beed calling Transport USA withou a response. Finally got an EMail stating they would look into it but then nothing. No response to any further calls or EMails.
