We own a small wholesale / retail produce business. We signed up with Transtech Merchant Group for our merchant processing. After just a few days we cancelled because I had done some digging into this company and read many reports of unsatisfied customers being charged bogus fees.

We had origanally told them we had our own equipment and did not need theirs. They sent us equipment anyway. We called them and requested a call tag to return their equipment as we had already cancelled our contract.
We returned their equipment and thought that would be the end of it.

About a month later we noticed fees being taken out of our checking account. We called TMG and told them that they were taking fees from our account and that we had cancelled this contract well within the thirty day period. They said they did not receive cancellation and that it was past the thirty days now so we would have to pay the cancellation fees. We then promptly went to our bank and put a stop payment on these fees. TMG then attempted to take over $1700.00 out of our account.
We immediately put a stop payment on any TMG activity. We also closed our business checking account and opened a new one.

Several days later they tried the same thing again in our new checking account!!! I called them and told them that they were accessing an account that they did not have authorization to access. The rep told me they did have authorization. I argued but to no avail. I asked what the $1700 worth of fees were for. She said for unreturned equipment. I said well I have proof before me that you received the equipment and signed for it. She said oh well these fees are for cancellation of your contract! Now, had we not cancelled within the specified 30 days it states in the contract that there would be a $595.00 fee, not a $1700 fee.

All in all this company has tried to take several thousand dollars out of our account. Thankfully we have been able to stay one step ahead of them but for how long???

We have finally contacted ABC Action News here in Florida and hopefully they will come to our aid. I do not know what else to do. These guys will not go away.

Please be WARNED!!! Do not do business with Transtech Merchant Group or any of their other companies. They are nothing but SCAMMERS!!!!

Also Fighting with TransTech

I am also a victim of TransTech.  Our small business unfortunately had to close this year due to the economy.  When I contacted TransTech to close my account, I was told that even though my 3 yr. commitment to them had been fulfilled in April, I had not cancelled in writing with them 30 - 90 dys prior to my anniversary date and that I would have to pay the $595.00 cancellation fee.

I told them that the business was closed & dissolved and they continued to debit my business account.  I closed the account and started to get threatening letters.
I sent by certified mail a letter telling them I was NOT closing the account and that I would pay them their monthly fee that I had been charged after closing my business until my next anniversary date.

They have since received & signed for that letter, cashed the 2 cashier's checks, and sent another threatening letter now demanding $725.  When we called to speak to someone, we were spoken to in a very hostile tone, and they would not even discuss the situation.  We were told it ws now in collections and were hung up on 4 times trying to resolve this.

We are now going to contact the State Attorney in Georgia, along with anyone else we can find to help us. If anyone else has any contact info to create a class action against them, please share it here!

Do Not do business with TMG

I am having the exact same problem! I wish I would have looked into Transtech Merchant Group before doing business with them. I will contact Mr. Abbott this week, and also in the process of having WSAZ News do a report as well, since there are several in my area experiencing the same problems with this company.
