This company will not stop calling our house. Day after day after day, we continue to receive calls from 972-428-5266, which I have traced back to a company called TransTech Merchant Services (according to the Better Business Bureau, operating under a number of differnt business names). When we have answered the phone, we have told them we're on the national "Do Not Call" registry and they need to remove our number from their database. However, they apparently have not done that because our phone records daily (sometimes multiple times on the same day) calls from that number and that has occurred for over 6 months. When we try to call the number back to complain, the call will not go through.

I have reported this issue to the FTC (www.ftc.gov) and will be reporting this to the Better Business Bureau after finishing this report. If the calls don't stop in 3-4 weeks, we will file a legal suit against the company (my husband is an attorney so the cost for us will be nothing while the cost to TransTech will be high) for harrassment. I'd urge anyone else who receives unwanted calls from 972-428-5266 to complain to the FTC and the BBB.

Cory's First Idea

#4Consumer Comment

In regards to the first idea that Cory gave, if you are looking to get back a telemarketer (or in this case, a lead generator or appointment setter) you should really target them, not the salesperson. If you give them a fake name/address during rush hour traffic you are just causing a sales person who had the appointment set by the woman on the phone to have to use his gas and time for your childish revenge tactic. The lawsuit idea is a great one, it actually gets back at the company itself, not just an unsuspecting sales person.

Couple Of Things

If it's transtech, they're a rip off company trying to sell you a credit card machine. What they will do is tell you one of their reps is "going to be in your area". They will send a transtech "weenie" out to your shop. When you get the next phone call, have an address of some company you really hate, like a car dealer or some strip club or some garabage dump on the other side of town and ask them to meet J. Smith at 8 AM or 5 PM, right during rush hour. then when they call you back and want to know what happened tell them you have no idea what they're talking about and tell them your number is a private number for a residence and please don't call again. The second thing is, the Attorney General Of Texas is suing that rip off car warranty company that was calling everyone's cell phone and home phone. They were charged with violating the do not call list, using fake numbers, not using ID numbers and whatever else. I use to get called at least once a week. The number was always different and usually showed a state's name only on caller ID. If I tried to call it back, it wouldn't ring.

Huge Telemarking Law Offender at 972 428-5266

I have gotten over 30 phone calls from this phone number in one month (April to May of 2009)! A woman calls always at the same time, leaves no message but you can hear background noise, it is her talking to her peers in what sounds like a sweatshop shop of about 20 to 30 telemarketers in one room. The lady happens to have an african-american accent.
I am in the increasingly useless do-not-call list, when I got this call I searched for the number on Google and found 1,220 results, thousands of pages filled with complaints about this particular telemarketer using this number. I think this company takes the cake when it comes to violating the law and they need to be stopped. If you are planning to file a class action lawsuit, please leave some contact information, I will be happy to join your class-action and support any lawsuit agaisnt them. Clearly the Better Bussiness Bureau is useless, so why not hit them where it hurts, in their criminal pocket.
