Complaint Review: Travelbridge

I forget how I ran across this site, but boy am I glad I did! It was last month sometime (Dec 2001).

Anyway, a few weeks ago I start getting calls from a promotions business. It shows up on caller id, and I don;t pick up if I don't know who it is. The caller left voicemail saying I had won a 4 day cruise and gas coupons, they announced themselves as Fantasy One Dreamstakes. I ignored the first few messages, but the one the other day got me irritated and I decided to call the number and ask them to remove me from their call list. What I got when I called was an automated message telling me to say may name and winner number to be confirmed as a winner. I did, with my real information, and then was told Congratulations, You have been confirmed as a winner of our fantasy cruise. blah blah blah. Then told me to press one to learn how to claim my prize. They say that to be eligible I have to be over 40 yrs old with at least 40K income and married. I pressed the number for Yes and was told You Qualify! Now you need to follow instructions to pick up prize package. Press 1 one the phone. When I did that the voice says they are Travelbridge and I needed to come to a quick presentation. Then the light bulb when off, I knew that name from somewhere.....I did a quick search on Google and found Rip Off Report again. I hung up...

For grins I decided to call back and give a fictitious name. I said I was Bugs Bunny and gave a 4 digit number. GUESS WHAT? They said CONGRATULATIONS! YOU HAVE BEEN CONFIRMED AS A WINNER!

If they call me again I will definitely report to AG as hassling me.
