Complaint Review: Travelbridge

We joined Travelbridge when invited to recive a free vacation for attending a seminar. By joining for a fee of $6000 we were to become associate travel agents enabling us to book travel through Travelbridge, receiving agents commissions and perks.

Upon booking the first trip we received confirmation of costs for the trip and commissions we were to receive. When confirmation for the trip was received, the fee was not as agreed upon and when I contacted the agent he said he made an error in the charge, however they would honor the price given to the clients, and the full commission was to go to me since it was their error and clients could not be expected to pay more than originally quoted; they would absorb the loss and send me my full commission for the trip and insurance purchased. This never happened.

I wrote dozens of letters to the sales agents, supervisors, customer service dept., even the president of the company. I sent Emails, copies of all the correspondence regarding the original agreements, and nothing changed.

I finally, after reading articles in our local paper about the company and their practices, realized that this program was nothing more than a scam. I also contacted the Dept of Consumer Serices, and filed a formal complaint against Travelbridge of Florida, where we joined, and Travelbridge of Arizona.

I finally contacted the credit card company that I charged the initial fee too, and after sending all the necessary proof of what happened, they were able to credit back a portion of the fee.

I still feel as though Travelbridge or TravelEz,their local Florida office, are responsible for the balance of the charges I had to pay for being scammed into a fraudulent scheme worth nothing to anyone but the company selling this scam.
