Travelers Innovations a part of Cosumers Innovations. I noticed a charge for $25.00 on my credit card. Before this charge I had never heard of this company. They do list a phone# 800-858-4838. I called them immediaty in an attempt to clear up this error but found them less than cooperative, In fact the person I spoke with, Chase, was down right rude and defiant. I was told that someone called me on either May 27th or 28th 2005 and whomever they spoke with accepted a FREE trial offer. I told her that no one in my home spoke with or agreed to a Free trial offer. When I stated that no one in my household knew anything about this she called me a "liar". I could see the "truth" was not working so I tried a different tact. When I advised that I had not received anything from Travelers Innovations she claimed it was sent out on June 8, 2005. I pointed out that June 8th was the date shown for the charge on my card. She stated that they don't send out the information until they charge you.I hung up and did some research on-line. Below are 2 the web addreses and what I found at each.

RIGHT TO CANCEL MEMBERSHIP You have the right to terminate this Agreement at any time. You may cancel this Agreement by calling 1-800-858-4838 or writing to TRAVELER INNOVATIONS at PO Box 45439 Phoenix, AZ 85064-5439. If you cancel this Agreement during your trial period, you will not owe any membership fee. If you discontinue your membership at any time after the trial period, you can receive a refund of the unused portion of the current year's membership fee subject to a small cancellation fee.

Q: What is your refund policy?
A: If you cancel during the trial period, you will not be billed anything. If you cancel within the first month of your full membership you will receive a full refund minus a small $5 cancellation fee, if you cancel after the first full month, you will receive a pro-rated refund based on the number of months you were a member less a $5 cancellation fee. For example, if you were a member for 3 months, you would receive 9/12 of your membership fee back less the cancellation fee.

Q: Why are you charging me a $5 cancellation fee?
A: There are a number of steps that must take place if you call to cancel after your trial period has ended. In addition to the cost of sending out all of the marketing materials, we also have to notify all of our discount providers that you are no longer eligible for the discounts. The policy is a part of the terms and conditions associated with the trial offer.

Q: When will I receive my membership materials?
A: It takes approximately 2-3 weeks to get your membership materials. Once you receive them, you will have the full 30 days to review and determine if you would like to continue the program.

After finding this information I called them back and advised them of the policy with respect to "Trial Offers", and even directed them to both web addresses. All she did was laugh. I asked to speak with a supervisor or manager. She refused my request and repeated again that they have a NO REFUND policy and wished me LUCK getting my money back.

Although I have disputed the charges with my crdit card company, I tried once again to resolve this with Vacations Innovations without success. I have now spoken with 3 different individuals @ 1-800-858-4838. It seems there is a company wide response to this type of situation. When I told them I had filed a "Dispute of Charges" with my credit card company, and wanted to FAX a copy to Vacations Innovations AKA Comsumer Innovations I was told by all 3 of these people, " It's our policy to fight disputed charges as long as possible and very rarely give a refund".

That's how this scam works. It starts the moment they charge your account and by the time the consumer becomes aware it's already too late.I've decided to forward a copy of my letter to my credit card company, along with all the information I've collected on Consumrer Innovations, Vacations Innovations and Health Innovations to the state and local BBB's as well as the FTC.I would incourage anyone else who has been scamed by these companies to due the same.
