I was reserving a room at a Ramada inn and they put me through to this office that would give me a discount and free gas and a free trial membership to Travelers Advantage.

Then 9/11 came and I cancelled the trip and the membership as I had no plans to travel for a year or so. I also cancelled the membership so I would not recieve a surprise billing for a renewal a year later. But here I am, less than a year later and they have snuck a billing through for $69.99.

I never used thier services and they never sent a receipt or notice or communication of any kind for a year. They just toook my money. In trying to find them I found an excellent travel agency called Travel Advantage not Travelers Advantage. They guided me to the correct spelling of the bogus company Travelers Adv.

They also said they have been recieving many other inquiries from other ripoff victims. They gave me the #, I gave it to my bank and signed an affadavit that they ripped me off and the bank will handle getting my money back.

The good news is that if you have not used the service and you have been signed up for something you did not want, then you can get in touch with the Membership Services at 1-800-548-1116 (Option #3, right now) and have one of the representatives cancel the membership and refund the charge.

However, if you used the service (made a reservation through TA) then that shows (to the membership department, and I think legally) that you have made use of the service and were not falsely charged.

If you get a busy signal then try calling earlier the next day, as they seem to busy in the late afternoon to evening.
