We had many houses in my area damaged by hail last April. I had four different roofing companies inspect my roof and all four found damage. I myself inspected my roofs and agree that I have moderate hail damage (I have been a builder and facilities manager for 20 plus years). I filed a claim with Travelers. We made an appointment for 3:00 PM today. I had made arrangements to be here, along with the last roofer who had inspected my roof. The adjuster showed up three hours early, had not called t o inform me so that I could be here and ask questions, and took total advatage of that fact by sending (in my opinion) a less that qualified roofer up on my roof. He marked several places (20 or so). He then informed my wife that we had absolutely no damage (despite the 20 or so marked places). Those 20 do not represent even 10% of the damage that is visible to the naked eye. He left my wife with a very threatening appeal form (affidavit) that basically no roofer would touch because of fear of lawsuit. I cannot begin to explain how mad I am about the whole thing becase how underhanded and shady this looks to me. After going to many ripoff websites, I now see that Travelers was a bad choice for insurance. I will attempt to appeal this and if I am successful, then I will revise this report. If not, I will be shopping for another company.
