Booked a hotel room for $78.00 through Travelocity.com. They billed my card. Got to the hotel and was told they had my reservation but the room HAD NOT been paid for. They suggested I call Travelocty and they would "honour" the $59.00 room rate. What? 59.00? Travelocity charged me 78.00! Called customer service & was on hold for 27 minutes. They said that they would re-fax confirmation that the room was paid for. OK, what about the 19.00 that you overcharged me? "Sorry, can't help ya, there is nobody to talk to you and I can't credit you the difference." But here this 800# that accepts faxes only. Fax them your complaint and maybe you have a chance to get the difference reimbursed.

Not ony did I file the complaint via fax, but I complained through the e-mail contact for travelocity. I recieved a "prompt" generic response that said they would investigate and get back to me. It has now been 21 days and not a peep.

You are stating that travelocity "Overcharged you" $19 because the hotel had a lower rate. I've been in travel for a bit, and this is my take on this. Different rates are based on different contracts that the various wholesalers have. Travelocity maybe able to get the rate for the cost the hotel adv you, and the price might be higher either due to commission that is to be received, or the fact that when you got to the hotel they have a lower rate for check in on that day. Travelocity doesn't owe you anything. You booked w/ them, and accepted the rate that they gave you. Why should they have to refund you anything because when you got to the hotel, they had a lower price? Travelocity DOES have a guarantee that if you find a price lower w/in 24 hours i believe, they will refund you the difference. I don't believe that you are owed, anything.
