Our children purchased 2 Travelocity E-gift cards as gifts for our 50th anniversary. This was in 2010 and they did not expire until 2018.

We were traveling last month and I wanted to use them to make motel reservations but was unable to do so. The number I was given to call ended up being in the Phillipines. I could barely understand the person on the other end of the phone. I gave them the promo codes from the gift cards, they had me on hold for 1/2 an hour. Came back on the phone, said they could not honor the cards and would transfer me to a supervisor. I held for 1 hour with noone picking up.

This scenario happened not once, but twice before I gave up, whick I believe is exactly what they wanted me to do.

I believe our son used a credit card to make the purchase but due to the length of time since the initial purchase, am not sure he can recover his loss.

Gift Card?

#2Consumer Comment

There are a few things odd about this.

If you go on Travelocitys web site they state that they do not offer gift cards.  Which leads to the second part of them asking for a Promo Code.  Promo Codes are generally issued from other discounts or incentives and is not a true "gift card".

Now, in searching I did find another company using their name but I can not tell for sure if they are related.  You can look at the following FAQ section for more details.

travelocity.cashstar.com/about/faq/

In that page there is a link to a site that you can redeem eGiftCards there.  Perhaps you can see if your codes work on this site.
