I filled out what I thought was a simple trial offer on a little postcard found at a Super 8 Motel where I stayed on a long road trip home. Little did I know they would zap me with a membership fee less than 45 days later. This company billed my credit card for a membership I never authorized. In particular I never authorized use of my credit card, nor did I give them my credit card number. I can only assume that the motel provided that information, which really ticks me off! Can it even be legal?

I did receive a membership card mailed to my parent's home address where I'd been staying before I left for the trip back home. It was forwarded to me with other mail and I will note that the Super 8 logo appears on this card, as well. Another reason to believe they provided my credit card number without my consent.

I'm sending them a letter demanding the so-called membership be cancelled as well as filing a dispute for the charge with my credit card company. If they don't follow through, the next letter will be from my attorney!
