Travis Auto Care Travis's Auto Care I Had My Brakes Done Here And My Tire and Wheel Nearly Flew Off On The Highway Tampa Florida
I found these guys on craigs list. I took in my car to have a brake job done. I paid the bill and proceeded on my way. The car stopped very well but when I took it out on the highway the car started to violently shake.
I got off of the highway and brought the car back to have it looked at again. As it turns out, the mechanic forgot to tighten the lug nuts on my front tires and I was at risk of the tire coming off at high speeds.
They tightened them up when I brought it back but I am very lucky that I did not end up in the hospital. I took my car to a more reputable shop to be checked. before leaving for Texas where I now live. The reputable shop where I took my car after being ripped off by Travis Auto Care stated that there was further damage due to driving the car with the loose lug nut but they fixed me right up.
I never brought the car back to Travis. Decided it was better AND safer to allow him to keep my money rather than touch my car again.

Since the original posting of this report I noticed that the shop where I took my car is no longer in business. Not sure where this guy operates now and hae no idea what his rant is all about. Either way, I had forgotten I had even filed this report and was perfectly happy never hearing from this Hack of a mechanic ever again.
Not only is this guy a hack and a rip-off artist but it also seems that he is crazy too. If you are considering using this guy to fix your car, (if he is still in business) I would simply suggest doing so at your own risk. I would not waste my time filing a report if this was not a true event. The fact is that a tire almost fell off of my car on the highway due to the mechanic not tightening the lug nits and I felt it necessary to inform the general ublic for safety reasons.
I am not telling anyone what to do or who to hire. Just sharing my experience with a bad mechanic and it is my opinion that this guy has mental issues as well. There are plenty of mechanics out there and if you wish to trade safety and quality for a cheap price like I did you may end up paying a lot more in the end. They screwed up my car so badly that I had to pay extra at a real mechanic to fix the issues caused by the job being done by a hack the first time.
I hope this post will help another person to not make the same mistakes that I have made in the past
