Travomint trying to steal my credit card and Identity details Edinburgh Nationwide

Beware of Travomint, it's a scam company. I found this website http://www.travomint.co.uk/contact.php when searching for flights. They offered great prices, much cheaper than the airlines directly. I booked up and received a confirmation email. Then I received a phone call six hours later form an Indian sounding lady asking me to check my email and please respond. I looked at my email, sure enough there was an email from them saying, my bank had blocked the payment. To get my flight I would need to fill in their form/attachment with my full name , date of birth, address, my credit card details and a copy of photo ID which would allow my bank to process the payment. This sounded like a scam, so I called the bank, they advised no request had been made by Travomint and not to proceed with them. I then put a block on my credit card.

Here is a copy of the email from Travomint requesting sensitive info to enable my identity to be duplicated. Banks do not request this info from a company for verification purposes. Only the customer can do this unless it's something like a mortgage where legal documents are accompanied by ID. Please respond Roy. This is to inform you that your booking is currently on hold, as your card issuing company has denied us to verify the billing details (Name, Address and Phone number on the account). Per our company policy we need to complete the verification before charging the card to prevent the fraud for this online transaction. In order to proceed further, we need the authorization and approval for this transaction. We kindly request you to fill in the copy of the card charge authorization form and e-mail it to us at along with any identity proof (Driver’s License/ Passport/ Voter’s card) of the card holder and the clear pictures of the credit/debit card’s front & back side within 24 hours of this e-mail. We kindly request you to provide the documents as soon as possible as tickets will not be issued until verification is completed on your card to prevent the fraud for this transaction. http://www.travomint.com/payment.html We hope you will understand, this is being done for your protection, and we appreciate your co-operation with this.

Forgot to say. I called my bank, they never refused anything. A bank does not need you to verify a payment with customer details, if a payment is declined the customer has to ring the bank and clear the payment. Not you with copies of ID. Would you send me a copy of your passport, personal info and credit card details in an email? I think not

Dear Roy. I have been travelling via flights booked by another online company who don't require this sensitive and personal info your company asked for. Now I check your bookings. I filled in all details again. Your last page says read terms and conditions before booking as I'm liable. When clicking the terms, they aren't available and your site advises booking without then and reviewing later. Who in their right mind would book a flight without conditions and then check back later to see the terms have gave you authority to increase the price or change them without notice. Your company is up to something.
