On June 2013 I called the Hampton Inn in College Station Texas, to reserve four rooms for my relatives that were coming in for my son's graduation. They asked for credit card number to hold the rooms, and that nothing would be charge on the card.

A couple days later I attempted to use the same credit card paid for car repairs, I was told that a $1080 charge had been put on my card and that I did not have station funds to pay for the repair. I contacted my credit card company who stated that TRAVRES had charge $1080 to my card for travel expenses. The major dispute with my credit card company which they read credited my account the $1080 and sent me the appropriate paperwork to dispute the charge.

I completed the paperwork and returned to my credit card company and was under the impression that this matter was close.  Upon checking my credit card statement in October 2013 I noticed that the $1080 charge by TRAVRES was back on my card.

I only dealt directly with the Hampton Inn in making these reservation and paid cash for my room when I stayed there. Upon contacting TRAVRES they assured me that my card was charged in error in that they would credit my account accordingly.  TRAVRES is a travel agency that to date has more than 150 complaints for this same issue.

So any time you reserve a hotel room check your credit card statement to  ensure that this doesn't happen to you.
