Trend Micro rebate ripoff-
I sent in a competitive upgrade rebate after buying Trend Micro software. I stapled the proof of purchase to the form and sent originals of the competitor's manual pages. The rebate was denied. The rebate is handled by the rebate vendor Onrebate.com. They had a scan of what they claimed that I sent. I looked at it. Amazing- I see staple holes where my proof was attached. Someone removed it. Or as my mom said when I was young, it just got up and walked away.

Also, the competitor pages were not in the scan. The denial letter said that I can send in the original proof of purchase to still claim the rebate. You mean the original that was attached to the form? How convenient for them. I see several complaints on the internet about Onrebate.com. I filed a complaint with the US postal inspector, and will file more complaints. Trend Micro is on this complaint because they hired Onrebate.com as an agent. Trend Micro must assume responsibility. Trend Micro won't answer the phone when I call. Their email response told me to deal with the rebate vendor. Onrebate.com won't answer their phone.

I am filing a complaint with the website that sold it to me. Take a look on the internet and see the sites that rebate vendors use to entice corporate clients. They proudly boast about how many rebates they deny. This saves the corporations a lot of money. More denials equals better rebate business. This is a conflict of interest.
