Tri Star Transportation Tristar Transportation Illegally charged for services Phoenix Arizona
Tri Star Transportation charged an illegal rate for a vehicle of mine they towed from a private parking lot. Arizona statutes state that a tow company is not allowed to charge more than $12/day for storage of a vehicle towed from a private lot. This organization charged $50 per day for storage. Arizona statutes also clearly state that a tow company is not permitted to charge more than $105 for the tow from a private parking lot. Tri Star Transportation charged $150. In order to pick up my vehicle on Saturday afternoon, when they say they're only open via appointment, it cost another $50 for a "special appointment." Tri Star Transportation also told me that they would not allow me to get in the vehicle in order to get my registration, and that they wouldn't release the vehicle without my registration. They also would not provide me with my license plate number, which I would need in order to file a query online for my registration in order to get my car from them. As a recap, here's the roundup for the laws broken here by Tri Star Transportation: Charged $150 for the tow instead of the state mandated $105 Charged $50 per day instead of the state mandated $12/day Would not allow me to access the vehicle to obtain my registration for "identification purposes". They are required by law to allow me to get in the car to get my registration.
