I hired tri-state movers to handle my move. I was quoted and told there could be extra charges after initial quote. I paid for the initial quote and then after the move was complete i was charged for additional services. I called the company to get an explaination of what the charges were and after three attemps to get the information i disputed the charge with American Express. American Express contacted the company and they did not once respond to the dispute. The dispute was settled in my favor. I received a call from the onwer of the company who was nasty and threatening and told me I had no right to dispute the charges. I told him if someone had produced a reciept and explanation there would of been no probelm. The owner Gaverial proceeded to threaten me all day and harassed me to get the dispute reversed or he would put a lien on me. He also threatened violence. I discovered that he charged my American Express card again for the money they were paid plus the disputed charge. THe company did not have my authorizan to charge me again for what i paided for and disputed which was legally settled in my favor. I have contacted Amercian express and they will not get away with charging customers twice and treat customers in the most nasty threathing manner.

THe company did not have my authorizan to charge me again for what i paided for and disputed which was legally settled in my favor.  You are going to pay the additional charges whether you like it or not.  Even if American Express decides once more to settle in your favor, I would fully expect you will be sued and he will win, plus any additional costs he will incur by bringing the suit against you.  Legally, he was well within his rights to charge you - whether you received a detail of those charges, or not.  You will end up paying a great deal more if this goes to court, than if you had simply not disputed the charges.  I certainly would make sure you did.

they will not get away with charging customers twice and treat customers in the most nasty threathing manner.  Gee, let's see.  You received a service for which they did everything you wished for in the contract, and then decided to reverse the charges for no legitimate reason.  Yeah, I would be pretty nasty about it too.

You are exactly the reason why the moving industry is the way it is right now.  Drop the dispute now, call, and get a detail of the charges, and apologize for making the dispute.  BTW, let me repeat this very clearly.  You deserved every bit of the nasty treatment you received.
