Had my vehicle picked up Sunday and come to find out I could have refused since they didn't send me a right to cure letter. The state I am in requires a right to cure even though Triad's reinstatement department stated they are not required to send anything but the Notice of Intent to Sell.

I spoke to a local attorney and he said since I didn't refuse that it may be considered "voluntary repossession." I guess I didn't know I could tell the repo man no to taking my vehicle.

We were 3 months behind due to financial challenges and have paid and paid and paid only to still owe 10K+ on a 2001 vehicle.

I have asked to lower my rate to help me out, they are quick to file and extension and make you pay even longer and more and more interest up front.

I wish this company would actually work for the consumer to help them when credit problems are a challenge versus harassing everyone they deal with.

Why should you get a rate reduction with lower payments?

About 3-4 years ago I had really bad credit and had to resort to high interest loans for my cars and home. I have not had any late payments on anything in 4 years. When I call to ask if they can just lower my rate because I have been such a good customer, they tell me they cannot do that. I would have to refinance. However, due to being "upside down" I cannot refinance.

If I, who has not made one late payment in 4 years, cannot have a rate reduction with lower payments, why should those people who have had numerous lates have a rate reduction just because they cannot afford it? If companies began lowering interest rates for those who cannot afford the high ones, It would really piss off their paying customers.

With all your late payments and extensions, wait till you see what your payoff will be on the car when your term is over! The term does not usually get extended and if you cannot pay the balance, they will take your car then.

Incidentally, I have one car loan at 15.7%, but it's upside down and I cannot refinance. I recently purchased a second car at 4.9% (yeah!) due to my ontime payments with the other loan. It does help to make payments ontime! I am actually grateful for the "bad credit" loans or I would never have had the chance to rebuild.

This is what's wrong with the world nowadays.. people are always pointing fingers at others for their own mistakes... you state that they make life tough for those with bad credit? Tell me, was it them that made you have bad credit? It was all because of YOU and the way YOU chose to pay your bills. It doesn't matter if you lost your job, a death in the family etc.. if you owe a DEBT, you are required to pay it back. I'm so sick of hearing people talk about how they were ONLY 30 days late.. ONLY 15 days late.. a due date means that is when a payment is DUE!

It looks like this company did help you by giving you a car loan. Now whether you could afford to pay it back on time or not, that's your problem not theirs. They have done you a favor by giving you a car loan. You return the favor by paying them back.

Why should they lower your rate if you can't pay on time? Have some common sense people. If you can find a company to give you a low rate for NOT paying your bills on time.. you let me know so I can stop paying on ALL my bills..

" wish this company would actually work for the consumer to help them when credit problems are a challenge versus harassing everyone they deal with."

They did work for you.....who else was going to finance you? And, you admittedly are at least 3 months behind. They could have repoed at 1 day behind if they wanted yet they somehow are unreasonable and wouldn't "work" with you? You're a riot.
