Complaint Review: Tribute Credit Card

I received my bill with a $99 annual fee. I did not want to pay fee so I wrote them a letter canceling the account, paid my charges in full and requested they cancel the annual fee. They cancelled the account but left on the annual fee and added a late charge! I called to correct but once your account is cancelled everything goes to their collections department. They said I had to pay the past dues(which was the annual fee) before I could even talk to someone in customer service re the dispute! Now I am receiving letters and weekly calls from thier collections department. I had a call last week and I explained the situation. The caller put me on hold to check it out and left me there for 15 minutes. She never did pick up the phone or call me back.
What a ripoff!
