I have dealt with Tricia Horst Weissman as the landlord of a neighboring property at 516 Granite Road in Kerhonkson, NY and advise against doing business with her in the strongest way possible.

Her and her husband are scam artists who will harass and bully you. The house at 516 Granite Road is in shambles. There is MOLD in the basement, the sunroom is about to fall down, there's TERMITE damage in many of the floor joists. The basement is always wet, and always will be, and a dehumidifier will not stop the mold from growing. There's a serious problem with rats, mice, and insects inside of the house. They're everywhere. In the basement, the kitchen cabinets, the walls, and the attic. You can try to patch up all the holes in the house but it's falling apart and impossible to patch all of the holes. A mouse only needs a hole the size of a nickel to get inside, and this house is riddled with them.

I see the house is currently listed for sale and listed as being in "GREAT CONDITION". Get a home inspectors opinion. Not one she refers for you. Go find your own (although you won't need one, it's obvious to see how bad the house is).

The only nice things about the house are things she stole from previous tenants who she bullied into leaving town. They were some of the nicest people in the neighborhood. They added the solid hardwood doors and put on the new roof. We were all excited about the work they were doing to make the community a little bit nicer. Since she bullied them into leaving, the house has been largely vacant. We'd love to see some nice new neighbors in there but would feel horrible if they got scammed into buying or renting a home in such terrible condition with such horrible landlords.

There are plenty of nice homes in the area with respectable landlords. This is definitely one of those "Buyer Beware" situations.
