Trilegiant Corporation ripoff Cheyenne Wyoming
My house mortgage is with Chase Manhattan, after paying a few statements I noticed my mortgage had a $9.00 charge for optional services. After calling Chase, they said that I had signed up for a travel service, however I never did. They said they would send proof from this Trilegiant Corporation where I requested this service. I paid the Mortgage for two months not realizing this charge was on my mortgage.
I get a check in the mail for $9.00 from Trilegiant Corporation with a letter from Chase saying that they are refunding this money and that my request to cancell this optional product policy, that I never requested in the first place, had been canncelled. When talking with them they said they would send proof that I ordered this service.
I think they may be doing this to alot of people and it is unethical and a RIP-OFF.

Trilegiant, and other direct marketers use somthing
called the negative option responce, which means
if you dont respond "no" it is taken to mean you
want the service. I suggest you read all offers
with your bills to check if they are negative option offers, if you dont you will be billed
