Trilegiant Dba Shoppers Advantage ripoff of refund Trumbull Norwalk Connecticut
I received the info about Shoppers Advantage with my G.M. credit card statement. I sent in the form. After recieving the information on the membership I decided I didn't want it after all.
I tried calling their number to cancel on 9/3 and 9/8 and got a recording that they were not taking calls at this time, to call back later. Well, needless to say, I didn't like that at all.
Finally on 9/16 I got through and spoke with Nacia Edward who was very plesant and agreed to cancel the account. Well, I thought I am home free.
I hadn't been billed yet, so I kept checking my statement to make sure I wasn't.
When my Oct. statement came in I was billed the 79.99, so I called again on 10/28 and asked to cancel. I was still in the 60 day window to cancel and receive the current years membership fee according to the letter with the membership information. I spoke with Eureka, employee I.D. 30492. She was very friendly and agreed that yes I could cancel and there was no record of my calling before, but she would cancel my membership.
Nov. statement, still no refund, so I call G.M. I speak with Rosita there and explain the problem, she says " did you ask for a refund"? I said no, the letter said I would get one if I cancelled. Why would I ask specifically for one? Would anyone cancel a membership and say well go on and keep my money? She then asked if I got a cancellation number, to which I said, no, I didn't realize I needed one. She then connected me with Jason at Shoppers Advantage. This is now Nov. 29.
Jason says no record of my calling previously, he will cancel and give me a refund in 10 to 15 days. I get the cancellation number.
I went online to check for refund. Lo and behold I do have a refund of 65.44, 14.55 less than I paid. I call Shoppers Advantage and speak with Hernando, who will not credit me a refund because I was only eligible for a pro rated refund. He gives me a fax number to complain to. Now I am furious.
I wrote a long complaint to G.M and now this to you. I must work my way up to a coherant fax to S.A. next.
Thank you for being there.
