For about 3 decades now Trina Kamp and her husband Steven, have run an ongoing scam. Trina says she is a trance medium of an imaginary man who died 400 (or is it 500 years) ago named Dr. Pahlvon Duran.
The Kamps work the alternative health circuit and recruit followers. Followers are told that Dr. Duran recognizes them as part of his spiritual family. Cult members are then expected to tithe to the Kamps, provide unpaid labor, donate real estate, vehicles, and other items of value.
The Kamps divide families up, end marriages, and rearrange people's lives as if they are chess pieces.
They run a charter school in Arizona, The Shelby School.
Members run various businesses and the Kamps prosper. Their top member is Steven R. Rensch, an attorney, who is married to one of their daughters.
